HMMMM. I'm nice, though! And I like coffee. You should definitely wave next time!
And if you come to Emerald City, you should track me down and introduce yourself! I won't have a table, but I'll probably be hanging around Brandon Graham or Corey Lewis or Bryan Lee O'Malley maybe?? -
I work as an instructor for an afterschool program at a middle school. I teach comics, zines, the Pokémon TCG (even though I'm not very good and only have two pre-made decks), and Magic: The Gathering (even though I've never played).
It's basically daycare.
Also I do freelance stuff. I used to be an assistant to a more established cartoonist (my old teacher), but that ended in January. $$$ :((( -
The girl I'm with now was in an Long-Distance Open Relationship when we first started going out, so that's probably what you're thinking of.
When I met her, she was involved with a guy in another state. She and I started getting serious, and there was a brief window of time (a few months?) when she was dating both of us. He flew in a couple times and I met him once. He was nice. I think we'd probably be friends if we went to school together or something.
She ended up breaking up with him.
I don't know that I can give you any advice about this, since I haven't been in your position, exactly :T -
is this that friend of Ryan's that didn't believe we went to middle school together?
I haven't seen him in yeeears. I come down to the bay sometimes, but I usually don't have time to hang out. But I'll move back eventually :) -
That sounds like me! Wednesdays and Thursdays and Fridays, I walk down to the bus tunnel to go to work.
Hello! Hi! Should we be friends? Do you want to buy me coffee? -
hey bro, this might be better via email. mareodomo(at)gmail.com if you wanna holla. formspring is a bitch to log into sometimes.
I went to Cornish because I wanted to get out of California. I only applied to two schools. I didn't really explore my options.
The thing is... Everywhere is DOPE. NYC is dope, SF is dope. Seattle is super dope sometimes, and sometimes it's a big bummer, but that's everywhere... probably. (Love people, not places). You can make art anywhere, and it doesn't need to cost thousandsssss of dollars. College is fucking expensive.
My dream is to just live in some little no-name town with a bunch of my artist friends and just draaaaaaaaaw.
You don't need a degree to make art. It's not like being a doctor or a lawyer or whatever.
Hey, but going to college was great for me. It was awesome to get out of my hometown and out from under my parents' roof. It's difficult to imagine what my life would be like.
wait, I didn't really answer your question.
Cornish was pretty perfect for me, size-wise. I wouldn't last in a big state school or whatever. I don't know if I've always felt this way, but I am reeeally uninterested in meeting people who don't make some kind of art. So it doesn't matter that I didn't get schmooze with a buttload of liberal arts majors.
If you're trying to decide between something like Cornish and SVA, I imagine they're not too different. SVA is obvz bigger and better, but it's more $. You're only going to have so many close friends, you know? So if you're worried about not meeting people, that's whatever.
idk what I'm talking about anymore. uuuhhhhh okay. anyway, email me or something if you'd like! -
2 years, 1 month, 1 week. something like that.

I can't answer this in public.

I am happiest when comics are finished.
I just want to be able to pay rent. -
Photoshop CS55555555555555.
I keep trying out other programs, but all the hotkeys are different and I get mad. -
I don't have fears. Just worries.
I worry about money a lot. -
I like it okay. I'll eat it. I feel like it's pretty interchangeable with tempeh or tofu or whatever. Depends on how it's prepared, I guesssss
