Hi, I'm Amie, and I was at the College Depot event that you spoke at about a week ago. I really loved you speaking, and have a quick question. Do you memorize your speeches? Because I didn't see any cards. =)
Hi, Amie! I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, I was out of the country when I got your question. Thank you for the feedback! You're too kind! I do memorize my material when I speak. I tend to change my material often, but through a lot of prep work and repetition I tend to never use any speaking aids (i.e. note cards, power point, etc. unless visual aids are required). I often stay away from power point presentations all together, I think that they just get in the way. I consider myself more of a "story teller" with a purpose... wow! I think that I will use that title from now on. See Amie, your question changed my title, crazy! Do you think public speaking is something that you want to do?
