It's very rude to do so electronically. It's the true example of cowardice, because they're afraid to tell them they don't want to talk, or deny what they're asking, or deal with a certain situation. Ignoring someone is rude regardless, but in person it takes a lotttt of effort to ignore them to their face. There is always an excuse to be made for electronics the next day. Rude and cowardly straight up.
