Yes. His height, his charm and his ingenious sideways thinking.

I loved the White Sands set interiors, and of course the exterior is a real place - Dalveigh by the Sea (possible spelling error there). I'd love a wing of that place to live in!

The only thing I know of that will kill the bacteria that create the smell is vodka. Saturate it with vodka and let it air.

I have really got to get to that. I know how to record a voiceover and post the PPT file. I have some downtime at Christmas - look for it then. And thanks for the reminder.

Yes. They still exist in my mind, however.

Oops, looks like I'm picking this up a little late (like, 9 months late) - I'll save it for my next birthday!

He does tons of theatre in Canada. I haven't heard about anything lately but I see his name in the theatre section of the paper at least once a year, so I know he's still really active.

Ah, thanks Miles. If I owned that show I'd already have made it available. You can contact Summerhill Entertainment and ask them about it. They own the show. They're based in Toronto, Canada. The executive producers are Ron Lilly and Bill Johnston. Good luck - let me know if you get anywhere; I've had so many requests over the years and I always wish they'd release it on a per episode basis on the web at least.

Wow, that's a great question. That stuff is really stinky. I know of no solution other than leaving the lids open on the boxes and placing them in the sun to speed up oxidization and off-gassing. This is why I only use waterbased products. You could possibly seal the boxes with a water-based clear-coat to muffle the stinky fumes. I use acrylic driveway sealer on most of my wood projects - it's very low-odor and durable as heck.

I've never used a dowelmaster (I hear they're fantastic) but I have drilled holes and hammered lilac pegs into the hole to make pretty mortise and tenon joints. If you're ever considering a tool and you wonder if you really need it, ask yourself what the pioneers would have done and see if the answer offers you an acceptable solution. I think dowelmasters are great for production craftspeople who are going to amortize the cost of the tool over years of heavy use. It would be a great luxury for someone like me since I don't do a lot of cabinetry.

You'd need a pull saw, which is a Japanese style hand saw, a hand drill, some wood screws and a level. Pull saws are a really amazing hand tool - Irwin makes a great selection of pull saws, and Stanley has one too. They're aggressive and easy to use, so it really doesn't take long to cut your pieces to length - even if you're using plywood. And it makes your deltoids very firm.

Yes, I worked with Dan, Paul, Rick and Peter from '83-'85. I love those guys. We did a weekly CBC radio show and had a blast.

I'm traveling across Canada right now doing the western Woodworking Tools and Renovations Shows - come on out and say 'hi'!

The headphones I think you're referring to are made by Ryobi and run on TEK4 batteries, a new Ryobi innovation that replaces 3 double 'A' batteries. They block harmful sounds but you can turn a knob to adjust their sensitivity and actually hear normal conversation without removing the headphones. They also have an mp3 input, so you can have tunes while you work. Pretty great for $69.99 I think. Ryobi is only sold through The Home Depot.

I've used a flat-bladed shovel - it's fast!

Wow, you're good. That's 'King Farm' from Road to Avonlea. The school house was in the field just west of it. And the village was all along the road leading into King Farm. This is the same farm where we shot my workshop show Anything I Can Do (in the barn). It's the most wonderful spot on a summer day. Good sleuthing!

Thank you for that very nice compliment. Sometimes I'm graceful and sometimes I'm klutzy. I'd like to be more consistent either way so I know what to expect during the average day but it's always a surprise to me when I spill stuff, and when I don't. I did take dance in University, and I had to dance in stage musicals, but I never trained for it. I did do a stint in San Francisco with The Don't Quit Your Day Job Dancers - we weren't very good, but we had a total blast. I LOVE dancing.

King farmhouse and the barn are real buildings and they're still there. Rose cottage, the lighthouse, Jasper's house, the general store, and the whole Avonlea village, including the covered bridge and the blacksmith's shop, were all facades.
