I use all different brands. Craft paints up to high quality artist grade acrylics. It all depends what I'm looking to get out of the paint. Some brands have better colors/consistencies/coverage.

Thanks for your compliment! Unfortunately I'm not making the Totoro sets anymore. Sorry to disappoint!

All of my figurines are handmade out of polymer clay.

If you send me a message through my etsy shop at http://magicbeanbuyer.etsy.com we can work out the details!

Just an acrylic paint clear gloss. But lots and lots of layers. I'm kind of obsessive with making them as shiny as possible.
-
I'll be listing some more figurines today, then working on a few side projects!

When I first started making the figurines, "lil dumplin" was the first thing that popped in my head to call them. I didn't really do any research beforehand, and later discovered there's a lot of things out there with that name. Especially baby things, like diaper displays and things. I decided I wanted a name that sounded totally made up, and wasn't really heavily associated with anything. Plini almost sounds like an evolution of dumplin as well, so I went with it!

I make all of my figurines out of polymer clay. Each one is sculpted by hand. I usually just follow my imagination. Whatever I'm thinking of at the moment.....cheesecake, cats, cupcakes...gets translated into my figurines. As for tips, it's all just practice practice practice! I know that sounds lame, but it's true! I've also found http://www.glassattic.com/ to be a great resource for any of my clay questions. It's A LOT of reading, but so worth it.

Thanks for your compliment! Unfortunately, I'm no longer making the Totoro toppers. Sorry to disappoint!

Do what? If you're asking how do I make guacamole, the answer is going to differ greatly from say...how do I tie my shoes. hehe

Brick by Ben Folds. gah! it gets me every time.
-
Summer! But then again...ask me again when it's summer, and I'll say winter. I can never make up my mind!
-
The cat. She's got razor sharp claws. Just ask my back.

ah, if only you'd asked what the most interesting thing is I'm going to do this fall! A huge group of my friends and I are going to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, fully dressed in renaissance costumes! I made my costume and my boyfriend's. This will be our 3rd year! http://www.flickr.com/photos/magicbeanbuyer/sets/72157621865629231/

Lots of clear coats. LOTS. I'm probably a bit ocd when it comes to that.
-
I don't use a base color. I just go at it with the colors I want to use for whatever I'm painting.
