I either have nothing to say, or I just say it.
Sometimes I regret just saying things, but not for long, elephant on trampoline is so distracting. -

It depends on the type of parking services they provide. And what happens after 4pm? That part is covered up. Now my curiosity is piqued.

There are many ways to experience Yosmite. For a first-timer, I'd say go down to the valley, you can leave your car at your parking spot and take the excellent shuttle bus to go around the valley. Then take a drive to Bridal Veil Falls, Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove to be among the Sequoias. Be warned, it'd be crowded in the summer. Spring is great to visit when the falls are at full blast, though I am not sure what this year's flow would be.
For lodgings, I think the quintessential experience would be in one of the over-priced tent in Curry Village. You can also try to nabbed one of the paid campsites, but whichever it is, you'd be among lots of people. If you want something less rustic, I think Yosemite Lodge is the best deal, especially if you get one of the newer rooms that's nearer to Yosemite Falls.
Unless you're camping and cooking your own food, dining choices in the valley is quite dismal in terms of quality.
Once you're done with the valley, you can explore the high sierra region via the Tioga Road. Lots and lots of beautiful natural scenery awaits you with way less people in your way. You'd also find a great restaurant within a gas station for great breakfast before a hike and excellent refuel after a hike. -
I usually tip less on carry-outs, unless it's a restaurant that I go to regularly. I've been told that it's not necessary, but if it's only a few bucks, it makes little difference to me and makes the vendor happy, why not?
