Yup. I handled all the HTML/CSS and design.

Duncan Abbot (@duncanmja). He gave me first real job off the back of a government program that involved a 3month trial. I was a bum with no qualifications or experience. Don't think I would be where I am today if that had not happened.

I do pretty much all the front-end HTML and CSS. I'm not a JS guy so that all gets done by @t_jakobs and @josefminarik along with all the proper leg work

Don't pressure yourself into being a specific type of web designer , learn some web standerds and basic UI/UX principles. Don't stare at current trends or cool effects. Look at what are constants in web design and get your self a solid core understanding.

Not that I know of. But I'm not going to be in SF for a while :(

I was on the visa waver program since I was only there 5 weeks and not on a salary of any-sort. I had the best time, meet some great/clever people and got a great look in to where all the best internet is happening. I summed it up nicely in this post http://lkbrd.com/e3ZFHK. I would recommend doing some real research into the people and company if you take the unpaid route though. But by all means go check it out.

Go see some live bands. Drink cheap wine and see my friends, maybe take the odd photo.
-
Sort of, I can't go into full details but let's just say they got me out there and took great care of me for a month :)
-
Can I say just say Family? I can't narrow it down to one.
