I was inspired to write by a love of reading. Also, when I was a teenager, I wrote to the author of one of my favourite books and told her I wanted to be a writer. She wrote back with wonderful encouragement. That was inspirational too!
I hope I can help with your second question. I'd say: find out as much as you can about the career you want. Google it and ask careers advisers, etc, for information. Think about your favourite subjects at school, and the subjects you need to study to reach your goal. Dive in and enjoy them - keep asking questions and reading around what you're learning. Most of all, have fun!
Good luck! -

Yes, I love listening to music. In fact, I write to music, and I have a soundtrack for every one of my books. I love a real mixture of stuff - it's hard to narrow it down. One day I'll put my soundtrack listings on my site. Maybe. The less embarrassing parts, anyway. ;)

No no, please don't leave me alone! :) lol
Sooo... the biggest perk of being a writer is definitely hearing from readers, whether it's by email or in person at signings. It's fantastic.
The second biggest perk (oh no - you'll never shut me up now!) is telling myself stories and occasionally calling it 'work'. -
Yes! I'm always writing. (Thank you for the wonderful questions!)

You're right - there's lots of organisation behind the scenes. It can be a lot of work. It can also be a lot of fun...

Does a cup of tea count? And no, I can't... must make another one.
