I am very cheap, so I only pay for a color change (not a whole manicure), and I go to a nearby nail salon with only asian staff who speak with such a harsh accent that I can barely carry on a conversation with them. I tell them, "Make them cute, but I don't really want flowers." Also, I'll sometimes pick out an airbrush stencil instead of a hand-painted design.
