I am very cheap, so I only pay for a color change (not a whole manicure), and I go to a nearby nail salon with only asian staff who speak with such a harsh accent that I can barely carry on a conversation with them. I tell them, "Make them cute, but I don't really want flowers." Also, I'll sometimes pick out an airbrush stencil instead of a hand-painted design.

At a place called Warehouse Shoe Sales. I know, go figure... a dress at a shoe store.

when i am avoiding eating, and start eating again, i have major stomach problems. this is separate from the gastroparesis. it's the reason that after severe malnutrition and weight loss, people are often refed with liquid nutrition through a feeding tube. the stomach is like any other muscle. without consistent use, it weakens. it could be that what you are experiencing has to do with the fact that you aren't eating on a regular basis?
when i'm trying to increase my intake outside of the hospital, i often start with drinking Ensure, then making smoothies with Ensure/ice/fruit, then following the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast), then trying to introduce variety... (eat peanut butter with the banana, put some cream cheese on a bagel, french toast or any egg/bread combination)...
my experience with stomach problems (my own and my friends from treatment) is that corn-based cereal (kix or honeycombs), simple breads, and sliced turkey, are some of the best foods for sensitive stomachs.
if my stomach is still giving me problems, i avoid foods with higher amounts of fiber or acid. if i'm having problems with constipation, instead of increasing my fiber intake, i'll use miralax. small amounts of food throughout the day is key, as is consistency.
set up a schedule that has you eating something (anything) every 2 hours or so. a few crackers (ritz and graham crackers are softer and are easier on my stomach than something like wheat thins or triscuits), half a banana with a spoonful of peanut butter, a slice of bread with a few slices of turkey, a cup of dry cereal, etc. i drink almond milk over regular milk. i introduce other dairy slowly - grated cheese on a scrambled egg, yogurt with my cereal, etc.
and now that i've written an entire book, i'll close this. hopefully something i said can be of use to you. -
Well, at first, I eat and feel very full. But then, as time passes, I start to feel nauseous. Then I begin to burp. Then my stomach begins to hurt. Then I begin having reflux. Then I end up throwing up. Usually it burns my throat because it is so acidic. Oftentimes, I will throw up 6 hours after eating, and the food will still be in my stomach. Because I have an eating disorder, there are times when the two mix together and it's had to tell whether I'm sick because of the gastroparesis or if it's because I haven't eaten X amount of time or haven't kept anything down, etc. The gastroparesis is pretty awful. The way they test for it is by doing a gastric emptying test. They have you eat a sandwich (usually egg salad) which is laced with radioactive dye, and then they take pictures of your stomach every 5 minutes for 90 minutes and then they'll check it a few hours later. The amount that your stomach retains tells how severe your gastroparesis is. Mine is most likely caused by my eating disorder. People sometimes get it due to something damaging their stomach nerves during a surgery. It can also be a consequence of having diabetes. If it's something you're concerned you might have, I would really suggest talking to your doctor about it. There are medications they can use to help stimulate your stomach muscles to digest, as well as medications for the nausea. There are also certain foods that are helpful to avoid and other foods that digest easier.

no one has asked me before... i usually do my own toenails - and i do designs on them - but most of the time, i go in to get my fingernails done. i'm not ambidextrous enough to make both hands look presentable.
a tip for those who are poor: if your hands/nail beds are still decent looking, cut your nails on your own and when you go to the salon, just ask for a color change. they'll remove old nail polish, file/shape your nails, and then paint them with a new color. instead of paying $25-$30, you'll only have to pay $10-$15. when i have money, i'll do a color change every 1-2 weeks, and a full manicure every 6-8 weeks. -
Thank you to whoever left this. Life is a struggle at times, but I'm doing much better than I was last year at this time. Prayers are always appreciated.

At first glance, I thought this was talking about my AIM screen name... but then I wondered if you were asking about my aim - like where am I headed. I guess maybe if you could clarify then I would better be able to answer.

i don't give obama much thought. i tend to spend my time thinking of things that are completely unrelated to him, whatsoever. nothing is going to change that.

what a sweet introduction. my thanksgiving was relatively uneventful and the events that did take place were chaotic. how was yours?

#you is anyone i reblog on tumblr. #him is different people for different posts, but always a male that either has been, is now, or will at some point be in my life.

see my previous response for my basic thoughts on the matter.
i will say, though, that i think it's interesting, how you're so willing to take some anonymous person's word as fact. i would think that if you were so impacted by something - whether it be a person or their words - you would take the time and energy to look into it a bit further, before allowing it to "break your heart."
maybe i'm just inherently skeptical and refuse to simply take things at face value; it wouldn't be the first time i've been told that. the flip side, though, means that once i believe in someone, there is very little that can sway me into changing my mind. -
I originally wrote a very short response, but then I gave it some thought and wanted to say a bit more.
Then I realized that I don't even care to say anything, because it's a waste of my energy to devote time to something that I think is just ridiculously outlandish, anyway. Not entirely impossible, but highly improbable.
One question, though: how do you know me (or how do I know you)? -
I'm not sure whether or not to take that as a complement... but either way, you were the one who asked a really great question. :)

let ME rephrase that: as romantic as some gold-digging, money-sucking, superficial, dependent-on-others-to-meet-their-needs, never-worked-a-day-in-their-life-and-never-planning-to women may find that offer, i'm going to need more than money to say yes.*
*unless you would like to take an active role in financially contributing to my post-graduate education, in which case, i am open to further discussion on the matter -
as romantic as some computer fanatics might find it, i'm going to need more than a formspring proposal to say yes.

I am not one to discuss politics, war, and poverty from a political standpoint. I would much prefer to look at any type of struggle or success from a relational viewpoint, with a goal of learning and and expanding my understanding. Instead of thinking absolute terms of "this is right and this is wrong," I would rather discuss the underlying mechanisms behind why we feel and act in certain ways and what are the reasons we address some problems, while excusing others.
