      I'm debating on purchasing the 70-200L II. My problem is... I'm not shooting full frame. I am shooting with the Canon 7D. Should I go with a different lens or will I still benefit with this lens on my crop sensor camera?

      That's going to be a pretty long lens on a crop sensor...I'd maybe check out the 85L or the 50L unless you plan on purchasing a full frame sometime in the near future. :)

      Hi Lisa, A HUGE thanks for posting the birthing images with your friend, Robin. Moments like those are fleeting. My favorite is Jude just before being removed from the tub. It doesn't get any better than that. Hope to see you back on FM.

      Hey do you think an IS is a must have with the 70-200 2,8? Its because of the price:) what is Your average focal lenght if You´re shooting wth this lens? Thank You Niko

      Hi Niko,

      I would definitely recommend the IS with this lens...without a doubt. It was worth every penny. :) I love using this lens at 200mm, even though it requires me being a football field away from my subject. LOL The images it produces are just gorgeous!

      Hello! Your children's portraits are breathtaking and inspiring. I'm wondering: do you ever use the 85mm for children? If so, what aperture and/or shutter speed do you prefer? I have trouble getting busy kids in focus with the 85mm, but love it with adult

      Hi, thank you! I do use my 85L for children occasionally. I do try to stay above F-2.2 or so with that lens especially when working with children. I get a bit more brave with my own kids. :) I know the rule of thumb for shutter speed is approx. twice your lens length (so 1/100 for a 50mm), but I am more conservative here (hate camera shake) and try to stay above 1/320 or so...even faster with my 70-200L.

      if you had to pick one lens for indoor shoots, forgetting about the 50, would you pick a 35mm or 24-70?

      I'm more of a prime girl, so I think I would go with the 35mm. :)

      Spot metering, If your subject is going to be small in the frame, do you get closer for a reading? If so, how close, and do you meter a certain side or area of the face? Thanks!

      I usually meter off of a neutral area of skin (not a highlight, not a shadow), take a test shot, and adjust as needed.
