haha, the way you phrase it sounds like he's married to his fans or something. Personally, after reading some other comments he'd made on the Screeching Weasel message board unrelated to the punching incident, I can't support SW anymore. While I wouldn't go so far as to say the comments make him a homophobe/transphone/sexist, they certainly made him look like an unapologetic ignorant piece of shit and I have no interest in funding the lifestyle of such a person. I'll continue to enjoy the albums I already own, though.

I haven't heard of that, but I may check it out now! I know there is actually an underground part of Seattle in real life that used to be part of the city, it's pretty interesting and I was hoping to use it in Freewheel one day somehow, though I have no specific plans as of yet.

I don't really go to see movies in the theatre so that's not really an issue for me. Most of the time I watch them online or on dvd, and I'm usually able to take the manipulative aspects with a grain of salt so I can enjoy the parts I like and ignore the rest. Either that or I talk through the whole thing, making fun of the parts I don't like (which drives my husband crazy).

I've been thinking about this lately, being that it is Christmastime and all (the season of peace and love and whatnot), and to be honest I'm not really sure. I find it difficult to throw myself wholeheartedly into any set of specific beliefs, but I do know that I enjoy a lot of the things that come with them even if I'm not sure that I believe in them, which I know is kind of confusing. I like and am drawn to many aspects of Christianity (since I was raised Catholic it's the easiest lens for me to filter things through) but I can't bring myself to believe anybody died and was reborn, or in miracles or even an afterlife. However, I believe in kindness and love and turning the other cheek, giving what you have when you can, and all that hippie stuff. I guess if I believe in anything spiritual, it's love, as cheesy as that sounds. I wouldn't say I'm an atheist nor would I say I believe in a god, but I would say that (as cheesy as it sounds) the spark of love in all people is the closest thing we have to a god, and if we follow that spark it will lead us in the right direction.

Yeah of course! Eventually I'd like to make a page just for fan art and stuff on the Freewheel site so at the very least I can put it there once I create that page. I love seeing that stuff anyway!

Aw dang! Yeah absolutely! And if no one else enters I might give you some kind of prize anyway if I like it! I extended the last day to Nov. 10th since I'll be away all weekend, just so ya know! But yeah, I would love to see anything even if it's after the due date!

You have to go to the Formspring page of the person whose answers you're looking for. If you have an account and ask questions signed in, I think they notify you when someone answers but I'm not sure.

I have no idea. I would guess not, I don't think they have a complex enough digestive system.

Just about every day I do something idiotic like that. I'll have something written out right in front of me and be asking "Where's XYZ? I can't find it!" only to have someone point it out right under my nose! It happens often enough that it would be difficult to cite specific examples.

If you have to ask it's probably time to give up!

Ignore them, avoid them, avoid engaging with them, just do the bare minimum of interaction that you actually HAVE TO do, if any. Unless I'm in a situation like with a family member or a co-worker who I literally MUST deal with, I would just avoid them completely, ignore any contact they try to make with me. In the comics world, we are such a small community, when this comes up it can be almost impossible to avoid dealing with people you don't like. Sometimes you just have to suck it up, or else accept the fact that you will never have certain opportunities simply because you refuse to deal with certain people.

Fair enough. I guess you could say I'm not much of a team player!

Harvey Pekar... he just reminds me of so many of my friends, gaining all kinds of attention for his work, considered a comics icon yet worked as a file clerk until he retired, and even after he retired he was never completely financially stable. I see this as the unfortunate future for many people in my field... lots of praise and adoration, but not enough that people will go out and buy your book.

That "lady lumps" song is creepy.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
My brother got married to this song and I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. To me, it is the most depressing song in the world and it actually, literally has made me cry. -
I like the way my husband makes eggs overeasy. Put that on an everything bagel (NY/NJ style ONLY) with some pepper and I'm set!

To be honest, absolutely no one comes to mind. I know, I'm no fun! And I know it's totally corny but the only person I've maintained consistent physical attractiveness to over any period of time is my husband. I know... boring.
-
I honestly have no idea as I've never encountered any, other than just being an idiot with whom I have no chemistry. yeah, that would be a dealbreaker.

I don't believe in "I'm straight/gay except for (name) who I think is hot." If you think someone of the opposite sex is attractive and would like to have sex with them, that is a heterosexual thought. If they are the same sex, sorry but that makes you at least a little gay. The good news is, it's not that big of a deal. Kinsey discovered long ago that sexuality exists on a spectrum, and most people are not all the way on one end or the other, but in the middle or slightly left or right of it.
