Encourage all kids to exercise & eat a variety of foods. Point out that weight varies from week to week, and that kids often gain a bit before shooting up taller. Skip the body shaming.

I'd like the US to expand Medicare to cover everyone. All private insurers could offer supplemental insurance to cover what Medicare doesn't. I'd also like Medicare to cover vision and dental.
Why? Because countries that have single payer pay less than the US and have longer life expectancies. -
I don't feel I'm a good person to speak on EDs since my reading on EDs did nothing but convince me that I don't have one (despite being told by numerous people, including medical professionals, that I MUST be overeating at all times).

I studied French and German in high school & college. Sometimes I think I should've learned Spanish, though.

It's stupid, but it's also distracting people from the attempt to make the Hyde amendment permanent. The entire bill sucks.

One thing I got from a friend many years ago: dating is stressful. Exciting, fun, but also scary. It's best approached when you have supportive friends, a sane living situation, and otherwise have a life that works. Why? Your brain will do a much better job of figuring out if a new relationship is working for you if the rest of your life works.
If you are making big changes in your life, which trying to lose weight IS, you probably want to get into a routine that works before trying to date. I don't mean "Wait until you lose weight to date". I mean, if you are not at the point where exercising regularly is a habit, work on that first, and fit dating around the exercising. (Alternatively, if you're taking night classes or trying to finish your first novel, those would be what you'd work dating around.) The side effect of this is that feeling competent in one area of your life (like lifting weights or learning a new language) can help you feel more confident in talking with people and give you a new interest to possibly share with someone new.
Basically: Let meeting new people and dating add things to your life. But don't make it your life.

I haven't asked a guy out in a looong time (it's one of the side effects of being in a stable, long-term relationship). But yes, I've been turned down by men (and women). I've also had men (and women) say yes. I've also turned down men (and women) who asked me out. Generally I don't ask WHY someone said no, I just move on to other topics of conversation.

Depends. Today I got up early and rushed out of the house with a Luna bar and coffee. Later I had some chocolate-covered cashews and some leftover chicken breast. Dinner was more organized: meatloaf, mashed potatoes and squash. Yesterday I had a banana & a bagel for breakfast, leftover tuna salad on crackers for lunch, and baked chicken with salad, yams, and carrots for dinner. Basically it depends on what I'm hungry for, what I (or the man of the house) feels like cooking, and so forth. Currently I'm unemployed so I'm eating more at home, which has reduced the number of frozen meals I eat considerably (I used to eat them for lunch).

Right now, it would probably involve a soak in the tub, giving myself a pedicure, then a massage and getting my hair colored (highlights). A past experience that I also think applies involved flying to LA, checking into a hotel in Beverly Hills, wandering around gawking at the shops, then going to the Springsteen concert and dancing for 2-2.5 of the 3-hour concert. Both were self-indulgent days, just different in HOW they indulged ;)

I could not fit in the Raytheon ride simulator in Innoventions. Otherwise I had no problems.

I had irregular periods all through my teens and into my twenties. Once I was out of college I got more regular.
I did not use the pill to regulate them though. This might have had to do with the fact that I'd skip months or have longer times between periods - if I'd had more frequent periods I might've been more interested in the pill :) -
It was wonderful. It smelled like roses, and I'd never eaten a rose, but somehow I knew it tasted like roses. OMG amazing.
I sometimes see rosewater in groceries and mentally debate trying to make it ;)
