yes! all of the cats i've had in my life have been either adopted from a shelter or rescued from somewhere. i had a dog once, too, and she was also adopted. i would never, ever buy a pet. unless it was a betta, like the one we have in the kitchen.... but you can't exactly adopt one of those!
