Go ahead, darling.

Busy, yes! But productive? I wish I could be doing more than what I'm actually accomplishing. This is both boon and bane: the feeling of never doing enough. But this is where we must re-evaluate our understanding and usage of time. Time, after all, is our most valuable resource. Spend time learning how to focus. I'm a natural multi-tasker so I thrive in doing multiple jobs at one time. However, this can be exhausting and counter-productive. So I challenge myself to focus on one thing first. I ask myself: what is it that, if I did not finish today, will bite me in the ass tomorrow?
I procrastinate too much and it can be such a struggle to shake off my lazy bones, especially in the morning. But hey, we must get work out of the way in order to live more leisurely lives. Work for leisure. That's the goal in mind.
And to help yourself maximize time in the bigger picture of life, here's something I hope you find as helpful as I did: http://www.ted.com/talks/candy_chang_before_i_die_i_want_to.html -
Not daily, but often enough so the writing voice does not go stale. These days, I write only when I can afford to. I don't always know when the mood will strike so I try to be ready at all times. I keep a notebook handy. I keep the Notes app on my phone on the home screen for quick access to when phrases (full sentences when in luck) arrive.
And to write new stories, you'll have to gain new experiences. Recently, I realized that I haven't been writing because I've been stuck regurgitating stories from my past. So I allowed myself to take a break from writing so I could discover new things to write about. Last weekend, I went to the beach up north where the waves are wild. Learning to surf taught me new insights on water and balance, and perhaps from this experience, a character or plot is born. -
Oh, darling, if I did I'd be firing words from my fingertips and I guarantee I won't be doing much else.
But here's an alternative view on writer's block: do not curse it. Instead, be thankful. Learn to enjoy the intervals when words do not come. Allow yourself to struggle. Writing, like all craft, requires work and these mental pauses are the bulk of your work. During these times, don't chain yourself to your desk forcing words to sputter out. Go outside and gather new experiences. These experiences will fuel future words.
And don't overlook the value in reading more to write more. Read anything you want: recipes, pamphlets, children's books, emails from a childhood friend. Sometimes, finishing a novel or a collection of poems can be daunting so read as you will and read what you want. If you don't read, you aren't refreshing your writing voice.
So go on. Stay in that rut, but read and go out, because when you find things worth living for you'll find things worth writing about. -
Oh, I hope you have more luck next time. My credit card (BDO) worked just fine. Is your card powered by Visa or MasterCard? Those should work, and I hope they do.
I also have had luck with ebook torrents. While I do prefer paying for the titles I like, sometimes, the Amazon Store does not have them in stock. So I pirate my way online and keep a mental note to just buy the actual book if it proves worthy. -
The immensity and intensity of my work loads, coupled with staggering failures of health every now and then. (Like now, like now, a flu is coming in.)
Also, the battle to stay put, stay here. -
I'm happy you like it! A lot of people were sad because my hair reached past my hips when I had it cut. But yes, change is utterly good, and I cannot be happier about this new length. I feel lighter in more ways than one.
I normally cut my own hair but because I wanted something more drastic than the regular trim, I went to Vivere Salon in Galleria, which is right beside where I live. So I really have no preference for parlors or hair stylists. I went for convenience. -
The Leica was a gift from my boss. An acknowledgment of my hard work, he says. To this day I am grateful.

Haha, yes, I am petite. :) And the school I teach at is right beside Venice Piazza, so yes, I can be seen there often.
I wish to run into you again one day, and maybe on that day, we'll both have the confidence to introduce ourselves in person. -
Thank you for the tip! I'll check Google Images after I answer this. :)
Oh, that was my first tattoo. The font was the artist's own cursive so I'm afraid I can't point you to an actual typeface. Why not get a tattoo in your own handwriting? Have a bright weekend ahead! -
I ordered from The Impossible Project. :)

Which reminds me, I have to re-stock on Polaroid film. -
That is the plan. Cross your fingers with me!

Quite often, but most especially when I feel the need to gather my bearings and stand more firmly.

I just answered a similar question. I hope you find it. :)

Hello there! The AB Communication program has four main tracks (in my time, at least). A Communication major can choose to go the path of: a) Journalism, b) Advertising & Public Relations, c) Film Production and d) Media Studies.
I went with Media Studies because I'm a sucker for theory and research papers. In this track, we talked about the roles media play, the power it has to include/exclude and shape beliefs. We also studied the role of the audience in terms of perception and behavior change, as well as in shaping back what the media projects.
Social Media Studies fall into this track as well, and I have taken it to heart to keep tabs on how the Internet affects old media theories and how new ones are formed in the process.
So two major things about this track: 1) Everything communicates, and 2) All media relationships are about power, whether we are talking about the mass media, or the personal, which is no less political.
All towards creating responsible media practitioners and consumers. :) -
Honestly-- this Formspring backlog!

Oh, you've been keeping count! :) I'm getting there, little star. Thank you for your beams of encouragement.

2/2: Thank you for the birthday greeting. Had we really been sisters in this life, I'm afraid I'd spoil you because I'm the doting kind. Let me know when your birthday is so I can greet you back. :)
