Try everything! Buy new materials, use them, buy more, use them. I think beginning in the art department is like starting at the top of a funnel. You'll try a lot of unique mediums and ideas and at the end you get spit out with a few favorites. Enjoy the journey, it is fun :) Good luck!

Now that I am in my late 20's my eyes have been opened to what a huge struggle this is. I have many close friends who have struggled with this deeply and it is something I have also dealt with on a personal level. Thanks for asking!

      I was born in 1986, I'm 25. I often get mistaken for a teenager though :)

We got pretty lucky! We bought him as a cheap puppy and we kept thinking he'd get ugly or there'd be something seriously wrong with him. I guess that could still happen...

My prices vary, it's tough to say. For a 12 x 12 painting I would probably charge $250, for a 8 x 10 sketch/painting I would probably charge $100. Email me at hueandhum.com to talk about options! Thank you!

Thank you!! I take most my photos with a Nikon d3100. I use the stock lens and a 50 mm. I hope that helps!

yes. all the time. my favorite albums lately are bon iver (self titled), foster the people - torches, st. vincent - actor or strange mercy, fleet foxes - helplessness blues, and wilco - kicking television. If I'm tired of listening to music I watch movies. If I'm tired of both of those I sit in the silence and get really deep and personal with myself.

Thank you! You are too nice! I use acrylics when I paint. I actually used to only use oils and I was kind of snobby about it, but I switched to acrylics and feel very satisfied. I"m happy I used oils because I think that helped me develop a method, and then I applied that technique with acrylics to get a similar result. Acrylics are also great because they dry quick so I can paint and paint and get a lot accomplished! I have also learned to love a lot of the acrylic mediums from Golden and I wouldn't be able to use those with oils either. I hope that answers your questions! Feel free to ask if you have anymore thoughts.

Thank you! I always loved to draw since I was little, but I really didn't apply myself until college when I couldn't figure what else to do with my life :). Once I got started I couldn't stop, I feel so passionate about it now. I feel inspired by a lot of artists, I tend to connect with a specific artist for a period of time and then I move on to someone else. I love german expressionism (Klimt for sure) abstract expressionism with great color (rothko) and lots of other artists!

I love TJ Max, Ross, and thrift stores. Basically anything dirt cheep! Once and a while I will splurge for something at modcloth or urban outfitters.
