ive met plenny of desis from india that are into sikhi, and plenny of desis born n raised here that aren't.
as for the punjabi police during the 80s-90s, i cant say. i wasnt a member of the police, nor were any of my children, youd havta ask someone who was. we gotta remember tho, these people were grownass men, not children -
actually, the camp babay do teach in pinds in India. theres plenty of strict religious minded people in punjab, and easy going people/families in the US. let's not make broad statements like that, they tend to be exaggerated if not incorrect

there are instances of gursikhs in the indian armed forces and punjab police that left and actually joined kharku singhs during the 80s n 90s. for the rest of them tho, i guess their salaries meant more to them.
