ID taught me how to love. <3
I have so much love for my course, I really do. The thing is, it's not for everyone. It's a relatively new course, so it's not perfect. ID does not teach you how to use Photoshop. (We don't even use Photoshop that often.) ID teaches you design, and by design, I don't just mean making posters. Week after week our projects range from things like branding a company, or making a press kit, or layouting every possible printed material there is. (newspaper, catalogue, album booklet, you name it!) We learn design through actually designing things instead of going through classes that teach us how to use the Adobe Creative Suite.
All corniness aside, ID taught me that design can save the world. If you're really curious about the course, drop by the thesis exhibit this week. Projects you'll see there will show what ID really is—solving problems with design solutions. It's at the Exhibit Hall at 3/F Gonzaga in Ateneo. :)
P.S. The incoming batch of freshies finally get the revised program. You get your design subjects as early as sophomore year. (Previous batches only got art history subjects that year.) -

Yup, it's definitely okay to use Windows. If ever you need to use a Mac, juniors and seniors can use the Mac lab anytime as long as it's open/there's no class going on. If you can get a Mac though, go for it. :)

Bought it online, some Multiply shop. Forgot which one exactly, though. Sorry!

I used Adobe Illustrator. I didn't use much fonts there, though. Just for the dates and the 'LIV5 in Manila.' Will still email you stuff from my collection though. :)
-
Uh, haha thanks! Gimme your email, I don't mind sharing fonts. :)

HI ID FRESHIE! It's true that there is a new curriculum, but as to when it'll be implemented, I really don't know. I remember one of my profs saying that getting a new curriculum approved takes quite a while, so it got delayed a little. But that was because the original plan was to implement it for the sophomores this year. Haven't heard much about it lately, but maybe I will soon. When you see me around, introduce yourself. I'll tell you whatever I find out. :D
