i have a list of my favorite items on my blog sidebar. i call them "things i can't live without"
so many! -
hard. still no house :(
please wish us luck! -
thank you! on the left sidebar of my blog, i chronicle my entire journey into the creative life. take a look!
-
this is so hard. for me, i just have to commit and get frequent trims. i'm getting one this week!
-
yes, yes, yes!!!!! you are not alone!
my biggest suggestion (or what has worked for me) is to reach out to peeps who live in your city who have blogs. when i moved to CA a couple of years ago, i reached out to a couple of bloggers who felt like kindreds. turns out, they were!
i'd also suggest using facebook to find peeps in your area. don't be shy! it IS a lot like dating which makes it hilarious. -
i would suggest her first two. she's got a bunch of great techniques in them
-
no, but i'm currently suffering from extreme pregnancy sickness and fatigue.
-
thank you! i should have more in the shop in the coming weeks. stay tuned. if you'd like to know exactly when they are available, i'd follow me on facebook/twitter/or sign up for my newsletter!
-
yes. i use golden's spray varnish in gloss. i use the spray so that i don't smudge the charcoal or watercolor pencils that i used in my pieces.
-
i print my own prints. more information in my faqs: http://kellyraeroberts.com/about/faq/

this happens to me often. and my biggest trick is to pretend that i'm in the mood. i make myself a cup of tea, put on some good music and tell myself "just one hour" and then of course once i start it's hours of bliss. sometimes getting started is the hardest part.
-
oh that is a good question. let me ask and get back to you!
-
i'd go with sites that already have templates that you can easily customize with your own photos and such. if i were starting all over today with no tech skills, i'd try squarespace or typepad!
-
send out newsletters. advertise on blogs. send out short and sweet emails to big bloggers asking for them to consider featuring your work. do giveaways. be active on facebook, twitter, and a blog is a must, must, must. but most importantly, have fun with it!
-
oh that's a hard one. i've been listening to a lot of brandi carlile lately. her new album is amazing.
-
i love all acrylic paints from the cheap brands to the expensive. for heavy bodied, i like golden best. but for fluids, anything goes. for an in between, i LOVE claudine hellmuth's line of acrylic paints.
-
totally. it creeps in often. i wrote about this recently on my blog http://kellyraeroberts.blogspot.com/2009/12/hello-courage.html
-
yep, i have a journal and i keep ideas and very very loose sketches in that journal. i refer to it often!
-
cheerleading and hanging out with my nana and granddad on their lakehouse. fishing, too.
-
an art director of a company sent me an email and talked me into it :) i'm so glad i listened.
