Hey, Chelsea :) I don't deal with filters often, but I will try to help! I am not familiar with any 55mm lenses; are you talking about the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens that came with your camera? The 58mm filters are supposed to fit on that lens. If they don't, I would contact the company that sold you the set up and ask.

To find the right lens hood or filter for any lens, just visit bhphoto, find the listing for your lens, and look under specifications or product accessories. It will let you know what sizes work with that lens :)

how sweet of you! thank you :) switching to video on the 5dmarkii is definitely not intuitive, but if you check the manual and practice a few times, you will have it down in no time! honestly, it's addicting. i've been adding it to every shoot!

if you looking for a free route for music, try the vimeo.com music store. search for music that is free for commercial use. you will have to hunt to find some good stuff, but it's there! if want an easier route and have the money to spend, http://www.themusicbed.com/ and http://triplescoopmusic.com/ both have music licenses you can purchase for commercial use.

I do not edit on a laptop. I actually just tried when I was traveling, and I couldn't do it. The lack of calibration and the fact that every time I tilted the screen the image changed drove me crazy. Lots of people do edit on laptops, just depends on what you are used to and comfortable with.
