There's this thing you can get to remotely send photos as you take them to your computer...that'd be nice, but that's $1000 I don't have and there's a rig you can get for shooting motion with a DSLR I'd like to get too, because I'd really like to try moving into that area, but I think it's about $300 and even though that isn't heaps of money, I can barely get a still shoot off the ground, so taking on more projects probably isn't the smartest idea right now.

My primary focus in the short term is buying a location lighting kit (around $1600) and a large wind machine ($650). I'm aiming for late July for those two, but we shall see...

Hmmmm....I don't really know. Rich and detailed I guess. I try not to follow trends in "alternative" photography. It gets pretty boring when you see the same themes in a lot of photographers work. I love history and try to incorporate it into my work in a unique way. A lot of my older work I'm not especially proud of and I shoot less than I used to, but I think the work is of a higher quality now, because I've really reconsidered what it is I want to say with my work, or should I say I care more about what I'm saying when I put the work out there for other people to look at.

I forget exactly which one it is but it is by the great team at graph paper press. They do a whole bunch of image and video friendly themes.

When I realised it was probably never going to be a viable source of income. Since then I have adjusted my thinking/expectations and came to the conclusion I am much happier shooting for me and not in a client based situation, which is why I take so few commissions these days

I touched on this a while back on my blog but really, I want to be successful. I used to equate that with money but now that I have a sufficient amount to get the things I want (which are admittedly simple) I don't feel that is a good indicator anymore. Mostly I want to be respected and valued.

In five years time, I'd like to be showing my work internationally and maybe have a coffee table book that people are actually interested in owning. I'd like to be financially independent from my Husband so that I can have more autonomy in the decisions I make about our life. Boring eh?

I'm not quite sure I understand the question but I'll give it a shot. I just order prints as people require them. My cash flow situation really isn't good enough for me to order prints in advance in the hope someone will buy them, but I am fortunate that my local prolab has a 24 hour turn around which means I can get prints out reasonably quickly.

As for models, I only pay models who pose naked or if I've been commissioned by someone else to do the shoot. Once again, I make very little out of my photography and flatteringly most models are falling over themselves to work with me. I have decided recently that I will pay a models travel costs though, as I don't think it should cost them money to participate in one of my shoots.

      Hope that answers your questions!

Yeah, that would be kind of cool however I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to my shoots and shooting with film would require me to go outside my comfort zone as far as sourcing the film and then developing it properly :)

I use a Canon 5D Mk II which is a pleasure to shoot with and Hensel lights. I've been very fortunate to not have to start out with poor materials.

Developed schizophrenia. I'm pretty law-abiding citizen by all accounts, so I literally can't imagine what I might've done.

Sometimes people don't understand that while I can customize a shoot to a certain degree, if the budget isn't there I can't be told exactly how each part should be. In fact, I feel quite insulted by it, because it's my job as an Artist to know what will look good!

Also, you have no idea how often I get requests to shoot people for free or send digital versions of my work for free. It's very disheartening when you're struggling with valuing your own work and nobody else seems to think it's worth anything.
