Dang, I wrote a list of things to do in Vancouver in response to someone else but you probably can't access it because the 'more' link at the bottom of the page is broken, right? Dang it, I wish Formspring would get their act together. Ah... off the top of my head I think I mentioned the suspension bridge in Lynn Valley Canyon, take the gondola up Grouse mountain for amazing views, check out Gastown for cool deco/clothing boutiques, sushi (almost anywhere is good, but Tojo's is famous), and walk the seawall in Stanley Park, definitely.
As far as maternity clothing, the only other one is Hazel & Co. H&M also has a very small maternity section but honestly, all I bought at these stores were maternity pants/jeans. For tops, I just go to regular stores. There are lots on the shopping strip on Robson downtown.
Have fun!! You'll LOVE Van. :) -
Maybe in another language but I suspect in English, people would think of 'nasty'.
-
Tak, mozna! Ale moje pisanie po polsku nie jest zbyt dobry.
-
No, not yet but we're trying to and I'm looking forward to it! Our scheds are hard to coordinate.
-
Yes, everyone buys that book, me included! It was the first one I bought actually, and I think part of me did it because it felt like such a rite of passage.
If you're looking for something similar but better (i.e. less judgmental and scare-tactic-ish), I really like:
- Your Pregnancy Week By Week
- The Mother of All Pregnancy Books: An All-Canadian Guide to Conception, Birth & Everything in Between
- YOU: Having a Baby
There are lots of others I can recommend but they're more about the history of childbirth and midwifery things like that.
For a really nice 'spiritual' but not too fluffy book I recommend: Magical Beginnings, Enchanted Lives by Deepak Chopra. -
My photo albums (does that count as one thing?), hard drive and tattered copy of Anne of Green Gables that I first read when I was ten.
-
I would dedicate it to my husband who was a paragon of patience while his very irritable wife was writing that book, and to my family. I think there'd have to be a special shout-out to my dad - he was the one who told me from when I was very little that I'd write a book one day. He believes in me.
-
He's trying to convince me of a baby name lately that I just cannot see happening any time this millennium. He's making valiant efforts to convince me and I just laugh. It's strangely satisfying, after the dozens of names he shot down when I suggested them.
Other than that, no, not yet. I can see him disliking more things that I love. Mostly for the price tag. -
Nope, not at all. I've barely purchased anything! The day I found out he was a boy I bought a sleeper with a monkey face on the butt at Costco because it was so dang cute and I was a bit in la-la land in my head, but other than that, nothing yet. When I walk into baby stores I get totally overwhelmed. Well that, and the thought of buying something that will last two weeks before he outgrows it makes me reluctant to plunk my money down. I know - no one is more shocked than my husband at that one. My mom is coming to visit soon so we'll do some shopping then.
-
I've been such a slacker, I know but I promise to put it up before the next Winter Olympics. Promise.
-
No, I still do the one-off here and there but I haven't been selling them online. I will again, once I reorganize my life.

Prenatal yoga with Shiva Rea.

Multigrain or rye toast with cream cheese and sliced tomatoes with salt and pepper.
Also a fan of liverwurst on rye with sliced pickles.
I'm culinarily weird. -
I wash it almost everyday because otherwise it gets yucky and flat because it's so fine. On those days, Ojon dry shampoo and a pony elastic (the clear rubbery ones, always) are my savoirs.
Otherwise yes, it's wash, blow dry with a round brush and sometimes flat iron if I'm feeling special. -
Hmm, I think so. Well, they'd pick one event to follow and the other events that were on at the same time were broadcast at a later time. At least, I think that's how it worked. I barely watched the Olympics on TV. *shocker!* (Not really, if you know how much I love TV.)
-
It would be about my tumultuous teens, definitely. There's little drama in my life these days which is great for me but terrible for book sales.
-
Ya, the latter. What can I say? He loves me a lot.
-
I adore the little stuffed Quatchi that's hanging on my keychain. Mr Fink thinks I'm totally ridiculous but I say wha-at? It makes finding my keys in the bottom of my purse so much easier. I think he's jealous of my love for the Quatch-ster.
-
I'd make the girl extremely intelligent so she'd grow up with a strong sense of self based on her actions and not her looks. The boy would have to get by on pure charm and schmooze but I think in our society this is more forgivable in a male than a female.

If you could choose a different place/era to live in what would it be? I spent many a happy childhood hour imagining I lived on Prince Edward Island in the late 1800s... and was Anne Shirley's BFF, natch. Except Gilbert fell in love with me, not her. ;)
