thank you! i only started getting into photography by the end of my high school years, but as soon as i started i knew that it was perfect for me. as hard as it sounds, try not to worry about what people expect or think of you. you can't really make everyone happy, so you should focus on the one person you can make happy; yourself. do whatever you think is right! good luck!

i would do it by adding a colour fill layer of whatever colour you want your photo washed in :)

i would go with lenses first. lenses are the quality behind the picture. the camera body just determines how fast you can shoot in raw.

even though i've never been there, i have a feeling i would fall in love with europe as soon as i get there.

when i have no inspiration for photos, as silly or as hard as this sounds, i just try to stop thinking about it and do something that has absolutely nothing to do with photography. taking a break and not over thinking about "needing to come up with an idea" usually works for me :)

it was a self portrait, so i put some green and purple eyeshadow on my eyes as well as a lot of mascara, then held the peacock feather to my eye in one hand, and held my camera in the other hand and took probably 50 pictures until i finally managed to get a good one that was in focus! haha. oh and it was lit with natural light from my bedroom window. i do not recommend doing this though, i poked myself in the eye with the feather way too many times and kept dropping my camera (onto my bed) because it was awkward to hold backwards!

of course it is! the way i see it is that you can sit around waiting for an opportunity to find you, BUT if you think you are able and you think you can do it, why not just find it yourself? besides, you never know how long you will need to wait for the right person to find you, it may be weeks, months, years, possibly never. i think its perfectly fine to ask for an opportunity :)

i think its just better to shoot raw in general. i've written a blog post about the difference between shooting raw & jpeg, so it depends if you want the quality/the peace of mind of knowing if you slightly over or under expose the winning shot, it can be fixed without destroying the quality of the image as much as jpeg!

as for pixels, it doesn't make a difference on quality, it makes a difference on how large you can print pictures. so for a campaign where the photos may need to be printed poster size you'll want to shoot in the largest setting possible :)

the 85 has more of a close crop when shooting - so everything is closer-up, where as the 50 has a wider crop. in a really basic sum up: i mostly use my 85 when i'm shooting outdoors and there's heaps of room to move around and walk back and forwards to get different crops in my photos. and when i shoot indoors i prefer my 50 because the 85 tends to be too close sometimes. hope that helps!
