fried shrimp heads! I would be too chicken to try that, though I understand they're big in the sushi community? Where do you think the best foods in the world come from?

Yeah fried shrimp heads a a little intimidating, but I kind of love them, I guess for the creepyness factor as much as anything else. But they really are delicious too, if they're hot and crispy outside and the inside is soft and tender and squishy. Here's a pic from when some friends and I went for sushi one time http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcn/320291548/in/set-72157594416450583/

As for best foods in the world...I'm a fan of pretty much any cuisine when it's done well. I love sushi, i'm a big fan of BBQ (Kansas City style preferably, but I'm flexible), I love thai, i've been on a really big vietnamese kick the last few years (pho and banh mi especially), it's been too long since I had malaysian, i'm down with a quality sub or some good ol american diner food, i love indian desserts (galub jamun and kheer FTW) and PA Dutch desserts too (shoofly pie reminds me of home), I'm kinda all over the map. Though if I were forced to choose something for a last meal, it would probably be a big ol jewish deli spread -- bagels with cream cheese and lox and whitefish salad, chopped liver, gefilte fish, corned beef and pastrami and tongue sandwiches, challah with butter, the works. Not only do I love the food, but its tied with so many good memories of family rosh hashanah dinners and passover seders and bar mitzvahs and oneg shabbat after services growing up.
