hehe thanks, because I totally missed your post. I missed EVERYONE'S posts for like the last week for that matter, work's just been sucking all my time, so if you had something you wanted me to see, let me know!

Yeah fried shrimp heads a a little intimidating, but I kind of love them, I guess for the creepyness factor as much as anything else. But they really are delicious too, if they're hot and crispy outside and the inside is soft and tender and squishy. Here's a pic from when some friends and I went for sushi one time http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcn/320291548/in/set-72157594416450583/
As for best foods in the world...I'm a fan of pretty much any cuisine when it's done well. I love sushi, i'm a big fan of BBQ (Kansas City style preferably, but I'm flexible), I love thai, i've been on a really big vietnamese kick the last few years (pho and banh mi especially), it's been too long since I had malaysian, i'm down with a quality sub or some good ol american diner food, i love indian desserts (galub jamun and kheer FTW) and PA Dutch desserts too (shoofly pie reminds me of home), I'm kinda all over the map. Though if I were forced to choose something for a last meal, it would probably be a big ol jewish deli spread -- bagels with cream cheese and lox and whitefish salad, chopped liver, gefilte fish, corned beef and pastrami and tongue sandwiches, challah with butter, the works. Not only do I love the food, but its tied with so many good memories of family rosh hashanah dinners and passover seders and bar mitzvahs and oneg shabbat after services growing up. -
oh man, that is so so hard, because I looooove food and really appreciate everything from fine dining down to fast food (I dare you to find any gourmet burger that rivals an In-N-Out double double with grilled onions and animal style fries).
I had a few epically great meals in Las Vegas when I lived out there -- at Fleur De Lys (the bacon wrapped scallop course were the most perfect scallops I've ever tasted), at Delmonico (an out of this world steak and maybe my favorite bottle of Gewurtztraminer I've ever had, I wish I remember who it was from!), and at SW steakhouse (it's amazing the goodies you get when your friend is sleeping with the sous chef).
The best sushi I've ever had comes from a place right by my apartment called Hachi -- they just get everything perfect, their flavors are always delicate and balanced just right and not at all overwhelming. (Though for overwhelming Sushi, i miss Sushi Mon in Las Vegas like crazy -- cajun albacore and fried shrimp heads for days!)
Honestly I could rhapsodize about food for hours if I really wanted to. -
ham is delicious
i am clearly the worst jew ever -

aww, thank you to whoever sent this :] I think I'm probably harder to be friends with than you realize, but I appreciate it all the same.
Shame you're anonymous... -
I don't think I'm complicated enough that only one person in the world would fit me right.

I think everyone's experience varies depending on where in the City they live, and where they go and what they do. NYC is very neighborhoody, each section has its own distinct personality. I love that there are things to do pretty much around the clock (though actually a 24/7 coffeehouse can be hard to find, sadly), that we have the best of everything here whether its food or art or music or whatever. That said, if I don't feel like leaving the neighborhood, its like being in a small town. It can be a crazy wild 24/7 party, or it could be days lounging in the park and nights sipping coffee with a book and peoplewatching. So it's kinda the best of both worlds.
Though strangely enough, I guess from my suburban upraising, I kinda miss malls and chain stores and the like sometimes. But that's a small quibble at most. -
LOL life is pretty OK I guess. I wanna know how my formspring landed in mystery Google!

OMG no you didn't upset me at all, promise! I'm just the kind of asshole who goes looking for fights sometimes. Your post got me thinking about something that had been on my mind, and in the process of pushing it from brain to keyboard it came out nastier than it should have. I think I'm one of those people who usually thinks a good vigorous debate (with a handshake after) is the best way to tease out ideas. I don't mean to upset anyone, and should probably be more careful about it in the future, though I probably won't.

Wow geez that's a tough question! Man. Hrm...
Can I get back to you on that one? Really, thats tough! -
LOL well happy almost birthday! 19 is a tough one, not much happens at 19. Birthdays are funny, you pretty much look forward to them til you turn 21, and then wish they would stop after.
Man, naming one favorite book is tough. The best thing I've read in the last year or two is Paper Towns by John Green. In terms of all time, I love pretty much everything Vonnegut wrote, with Mother Night being my favorite. Love Brave New World. The Great Gatsby. The Perks of Being A Wallflower was a big book for me, it really sort of reconfigured my life. So did The Dharma Bums. I've been fanboying over David Levithan the last few years and he's never done me wrong. I dunno, I don't read as much as I should, probably. -
Yeah I love their diet green tea, and their diet blueberry and peach green teas too. And their diet peach black tea. Aw hell, it's all good :)
I've got one pet, my kitty Lillah. I mean i guess she's not really a kitty anymore, she's like 12 or 13 years old, but she'll always be my kitty ;] She's been with me through everything in my life the last 6 years. She might be best thing that ever happened to me.
My roomie has two cats too. Sometimes the three of them get along. Mostly they eye each other warily.
I turned 30 in August, though I'm still basically refusing to admit it to myself. You can just call me Grandpa.
