      Who was the first person to take a chance on you in your professional career?

      I know it's cliched,but my parents by putting money into my ventures (as clients and investors). Beyond them, the volunteers at SimpleMachines.org - when they jumped on board an open source project I co-founded with awe-inspiring enthusiasm. Their passion really drove me to step up my game.
