hi, after opening my laptop it goes black with a blinking dash on the top left corner. it stays like this forever. do you know why? is it a virus? i always force it to shut down (by pressing the power button).
It could be a virus, or a Windows start up program or file might be broken if you are using Windows. It also can be a corrupt registry key. You can try running Start up repair from your Windows install CD if you are using Windows 7 or Vista.
