OHMYGOSH IF I COULD BE ANYONE EVER I WOULD BE MICK JAGGER!

No, seriously, I fucking would. He's the man.

I think that's a fair point to make, but it was never what I had in mind when I thought of those characters.
My view of Carrie and Jason is that they didn't join forces with Batman to be Batman's sidekick (awesome as that label would be). For Carrie, certainly, it was an escape from a homelife that ignored her completely and probably would have destroyed her. It was an adventure, it wasn't about being someone's second, it was about being someone, making a different and mattering. And y'know, they get to kick ass. I think Robin, as a character, brought back some of the vibrancy and youth that Batman gave up to become this dark hero; it balanced him out against those happy clappy red and blue heroes like Superman and Spiderman.
And for Jim? Well, that's just another case of being on an adventure. Looking at Treasure Island through the eyes of Smollet, for example, just wouldn't have been the same story. It wouldn't have had half the wonder or magic that it did. And besides, Jim's role as cabin boy wasn't one he chose. It was a reflection of his age, his class and his ability at the time.

So do I pick secondary characters because I have a tendancy to lean towards subservience? No. I pick them because they're the ones that know how to have a good time.

It's totally a toss up between Robin of Batman & Robin fame (either Carrie Kelly or Jason Todd) or Jim Hawkins in Treasure Island. Take from those two suggestions what you will.

The best advice I ever received probably came from the one person I should never have taken it from. My dad once told me to do what makes myself happy and bollocks to the rest. Pretty much a Little Miss Sunshine "Do what you love and fuck the rest" idea. I adapted it slightly, to make myself happy and to look out for number one only while I was still young and free enough to get away with being so selfish. One day I will have to grow up, but until then I'm well within my rights to behave the way I do.

The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle. I love that people focus so much on Sherlock Holmes when that little gem is also a part of this fella's back catalogue. One of the first books I remember never wanting to end. It's beautiful.

Good luck lovely :D Seriously, moving away was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I'm glad you got that whole uni crap sorted too, it was horrific seeing someone going through the exact same nonsense I did this time last year.
Last night, we toasted to the fact that it was pretty much exactly a year since I dropped out and applied up here. It was BRILLIANT.
      Worth partying for itself.

My TV. I don't have one anyway, so no loss.
I actually don't even miss the ruddy thing. BBC iPlayer more than fills the void and it fits into my schedule a whole lot easier.

CARDIFF? Ooh, you lucky devil! If you meet someone called Sheebs and someone called Bex Feeney, tell those sexy girls I love them more than life itself.
In fact, I might just go text them and tell them myself :D

I'd kill for Emery to come round that little bit faster. I'll settle for that for now.

Why don't you come up here?! And I don't know if I am, cause my muddah is moving to Aussieland this summer and taking the entire flippin' tribe with her so I'm better off staying up here with my job and uni in September.
      It's SHOCKING, I know!
      :[

And in a strange way, I miss that fucking bitch.

I'd tell myself what a dick my deadbeat dad was. I know my mum was just trying to protect us, but what I learnt over the last couple of years fucked me up more than I could ever explain. Cruel as it would be to tell my ten year old self that, just as I was watching him storm out of the house for the last time, I'd rather I'd have known from the beginning and not wasted so much time, effort and love on that man.

Edinburgh - Genuinely the only place in the UK I've ever felt at home.
Manchester - for all the good times.
      Liverpool - see above.
London - Busy, bright and beautiful.
Blackpool (technically a town but whatever) - because it's utterly trashy and utterly brilliant. I miss it more than I miss Preston.

I can't even begin to explain how much I don't want to die of old age in my sleep. Helplessness terrifies me too, so nothing that leaves me utterly incapcitated and unable to make my own decision on the situation. Other than that, I'm down with whatever's waiting for me. I'll burn out. I won't fade away.

I'm a summer kid. The long days, the possibility of sunshine, the feeling of freedom. Everything looks so much prettier in the sun.
