With all the women in the world, why do want to bother a woman WHO DOESN'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED? Who are you -- the Trojan Mark? Captain Save a Hoe? What, you need a hobby? You setting yourself up for some bullshit, as if life isn't hard enough. Leave that alone, because the secret is once you "break her walls down" you may find out there is not much behind them, or that it will tak you awhile to haul away all those bricks left from the demolition. Life is too short -- people are not projects Your instinct is the correct one -- move on, homie.

I get this question a lot. No, it hasn't.
What people forget about the book is that it was a unconventional memoir set in non-traditional prose, with intentionally self-conscious inquiry on both ends. I tried to honor readers by not writing a book of easy answers, instead choosing to be thoughtful and embed lessons into my sundry tales of woe. The nuance turned out to be too sophisticated for many. This to say, my past remains static: therefore, everything I learned remains true, maybe more true than it was before I wrote the book.
One thing I DID learn, seriously: there are women out there HURTING. I mean, like you would not believe, because no one wants to die alone. These women feel pushed to tears and near violence by the suggestion that they could very well be their own worst enemy. That, I HAVE learned. -
Originally, "crunk" was short for "crazy-drunk," and I think it's a term born in the south.

Charles Bukowski. Vegas. Or Miami. Or Ernest Tidyman. Henry Miller. Gordon Parks. Zora Hurston. Iceberg Slim. Love to have them all in an RV, touring the New South.

Cleveland, where my children live. When they are grown, it is likely I will leave.

Paying job or paying hustle? First job was paperboy. First hustle was ripping Michael Jackson pictures from music and culture magazines at the library and selling them for upwards of 20 dollars at school. True story.

@EssenceMagazine. Black women need bad relationship advice like black men need free guns. Enough, already.

Umm. You'll have to be more specific. If I am, I probably would not take it personally. Just let me know who u are, and I will fix it.
