I am prone toward excess, but that does not mean that I fall into excess in all areas of life. And if anything can be made an idol, I don't know if you can fully run from it all. Bottom line, live in freedom, and worship Jesus, live in community and fight your idols. My 2 cents.

I only meant to say that it's the heart that's wicked, not the thing itself. I'm prone toward excess as an idolator - and so is everyone else. Bad news: we'll never be rid of it. Thus far, formspring has been great for me - giving words to fairly tough questions. :)

My belief, concisely: I serve Jesus, the Creator, who made me and everything else. I therefore am a creator who has the privilege of capturing things that He made. All people have His glory in them.
Therefore, i do what I do to serve Him and use gifts that He gave me. The fringe benefits are food on the table, time with my wife, raising my boys, meeting amazing people, and getting to see new places.
I'm humbled and grateful to do what I do.
