I have some on my knees from middle school. A group of us used to play hardcore soccer on the blacktop, so I was always scuffing up my knees. The scars make me a little self-conscious about my legs... but not too much!

I'm well, thanks! I am quite busy with work, life, music, and yet more education. How are you? :)

"Those who can't do, teach." Nothing could be further from the truth! Perhaps there are some teachers who fall into that zone, but I've been lucky to know a few who really did, or were still actively doing, the topics I was learning from them. NYU, for example, is rife with professors who are active in the industry concurrent to their teaching jobs.

Actually, to put it in context, that advice was directed at me - the purveyor of said advice was suggesting that I could go into teaching if I didn't "make it". Thanks, extended family!

Unfortunately, the TV would fly out the window in a heartbeat. I only have cable because the cable/internet combo is cheaper than internet alone. (Go figure!) I'm sure I could find a converter box to pipe my older systems through one of my LCDs if need be.

I have been to Japan and England. I hope to visit many more in the near future!

I love dipping my toes in the ocean, but swimming is a little rough with seaweed and all that - it feels icky. Also, I almost drowned from getting pulled out far from shore by a riptide, so I prefer to not swim in the ocean anymore.

Pools have a lot of chlorine, though, but a warm indoor pool can feel fantastic.

I would prefer silence, if I had a choice. Rather than hear my music and voice, I would want my friends and family to take a moment to remember how I sounded to them, how they heard me.

Zama, Kanagawa, Japan (departing from JFK). My first plane trip was 14 hours with no stops! Even so, it was fantastic. I always hope to return to Japan. You can still read about my blog from my visit: http://jen-in-japan.blogspot.com/

Great question! I'm one for adventure, and tend to move around every year or so for one reason or another. Moving to South Carolina was unexpected - it satisfied a need for an affordable life, as well as a distinct change from the busy living within sight of New York City. It also brings me closer to someone I love very much.

I expected to find more of the hospitality of North Carolina (for me, mostly Northerners who moved southward), but that hasn't been the case in Spartanburg. Making friends or talking to strangers has been far harder than it was in Jersey City, which is surprising. It's been difficult for me to wrap around that some people don't want to talk to a "Yankee", even if it is just a hello.

I was really hoping to make more friends at networking events, the gym, the grocery store, etc., but it hasn't happened in the half-year I've been here. Perhaps Southern relationships take more time to cultivate. I hope this changes soon.

Yes. I have known two in particular. I believe at least one of the two has moved on by now.

I believe it was house sitting for a neighbor. They had cats that needed feeding and pruning when they were away. Strangely enough, I only remember feeding them... not so much changing their litter. Funny how memories drop those details over time, eh?

Definitely not! I have a loving boyfriend who lives just over a half-hour away. We're crazy about each other! Thanks for asking, though!

Although less practical, being able to fly is what I always dream about, periodically, throughout my life. When I was a preteen or so, I remember having dreams of running down my little dead-end street, jumping, and hoping that I would finally fly, arms outstretched. Sometimes it would happen, sometimes, not. I kept trying every time my dream had a long enough road to attempt a take-off.

He's already IN love with me, and seemingly always has been. The rest is history!

Can I choose an animal? If so, I wish one of my cats would fall in love with me, rather than be so aloof and all that. Maybe Tesla, because he's a skittish little guy, and being in love can make you open up a little.

By far, my time in Japan is nearly unparalleled. A close runner-up would be the brief afternoon I spent walking around Stonehenge. (Yes, THE Stonehenge.)
