I realize this is just about as vague as it is humanly POSSIBLE to be, but the changes are behaviorally few, but the goals they will empower will be many and far-reaching.

I'm part of a subculture wherein it is perfectly acceptable to choose one's own name, and I experimented with that a bit. And in the end, I decided that a label is less important than the thing labeled.

I'd make it illegal for The System to put Things over People. By the way, corporations are Things.

I think it would be WAY cool to speak Latin, but if I were to invest the time to get familiar with another language, I'd probably want to know one of the more common ones worldwide.

I'd SURVIVE just fine. I can and have created many of life's necessities... But I didn't have much fun doing it.

Mankind built those things to improve our lives. Some of them were better at that goal than others, but they all have their uses.

I have been reading my social pages, but not posting often at ALL. Honestly, my output has only barely increased; The likeliest answer is that our schedules happened to coincide recently. How are you?

Doing what you can to make the other person feel special.

The tragedy is so often NOT that people don't try to make each other feel special, but that the intended recipient fails to see it.

Valentine's Day 2004, after 6 years of marriage, was the first time anything more explicit than a peck on the lips happened to me on Valentine's Day.

I had been meeting a college friend on Saturday afternoons. Having a weekly assignation kept me from haranguing the wife for sex QUITE so much. (By the time the wife's libido finally kicked in a couple years later, we had already agreed that we were NOT a viable couple.) That year, V-Day happened to fall on my friend's usual day, and we had a lovely afternoon. She and I were always very dear to each other, and honestly it wasn't much different from other weeks -- a bit more tender than usual, perhaps.

That wasn't to say it wasn't Special; time with those you love is always tinged in gold, if only you can see it.

That would be commando/regimental for at least part of the time. (Yes, I DO have a kilt. Yes I do wear it regimental. Why on earth would anyone do otherwise?)

Yes. I'm kinda flexible; I usually like to throw a few things together based on what's available.

That said, I have both adapted and invented a few different cookie recipes to my own taste.

Whether they'd get help; no.

What TYPE of help they'd get, yes. Male on female physical abuse gets a physical response; female on male physical abuse gets a legal response. Verbal abuse in either direction gets counseling and/or any possible divorce assistance.

I patently admit that response is sexist. I'd prefer it wasn't, but I'm more concerned with honesty than reputation.

Deserving of good repute. Not necessarily HAVING it; but deserving it.

Probably; though I'm a fairly good talker; if they showed some flexibility something might be finagled.

Sweden; It's nonviolent in a lot of the ways that make me a believer in Switzerland, without being (or at least seeming to me) to be as straightlaced as the Swiss.

People believe in labels. It they are close enough that they could believe the label is true, "keeping" (actually BECOMING) the good parts can feel like a responsibility, and allowing oneself to become the bad parts is much easier to justify.

I did. Freshman year of High School, I actually grabbed the guy by the collar and threatened him. I didn't know there was a teacher behind me at the time, which kept me from getting thumped just then.

On the other hand, standing up to him kept him from bugging me thereafter.
