Hey sweetheart. I was exactly in your position just a few months ago. I questioned myself that too. Yes, I could have many guy friends around but I didn't opened up to my feelings to any of them. Not that I didn't wanted to, but I just couldn't. The world was pretty much amazed by my independence, and asked what do I do if my girlfriends are occupied with their relationships. That is why I keep myself really busy. I got involved with so many things and have not one but a hell lot of ambitions to achieve. Just so that my problems could be distracted by doing something else.

I never had a boyfriend before, until I met Matin. What I wanted to risk was for something really worthy, and I guess many boys these days only love to fool around. I don't blame them either, because probably we're still young and we have time to piece back things that we once mess up. However, perhaps I am over and done with that phase of life. Neither could find a way to my heart, and sometimes I felt that there is probably secretly something wrong with me.

Listen dear. Let me tell you about the Golden Apple theory. Girls are like apples. The most sacred valuable apples are always on top of the tree. At times, these apples wonder why they haven't been picked and noticed. People only picked and notice the apples that bear at the bottom of the trees, or those which had dropped on the ground? Why? Because those are the easiest to reach. But that doesn't mean that the apples above of all these picked apples aren't worth. It probably just took a little more effort in taking a ladder, or climbing the tree, to pluck them. People don't usually go to the hassle to do that. Similarly, there are ways to reach to your heart, but boys our age wouldn't bother to go to the extra mile to 'pick up that ladder' or 'climb the tree' to get to your heart. You get what I'm saying?

And listen honey, if someone who ever found a way to 'pick and notice' your heart, I'm sure he will cherish you with all his heart.

I figured that the main issue here is fearful of commitments. I was terrified with relationships too. You think that if you gave all your heart and soul for someone, they tend to screw you over. But sometimes, some risk is worth taking. Loving is a risk itself, but if it's right, it's really gonna take you to the most beautiful view in life. But if it's not, then it's a lesson learned. You just have to learn how to evaluate and make the right decision. My advice is, when that someone come along, judge them based on your heart. Follow your heart, even though it's on the left side of your chest, it's always right. However, remember, don't let your loneliness make the decisions for you.
