I'm in love with it. the team at BIG DEAL BRANDING did a suuuuper job working with me. we still have a few things to flesh out and are waiting on the new site platform from VSCO to be finished so we can relaunch all of our sites on VSCO.

well, assuming you have all pro canon gear you won't lose too much on the switch. if you're looking for better focus, the 1 series should cure your 5 series problems. when we switched back to nikon it was because of focus, flash, and build quality issues with bodies/lenses/flashes...unfortunately the last two issues don't get fixed no matter how great the body you upgrade to on canon is :(
if you go to nikon, we're perfectly happy with D700s...but sure wouldn't mind any of the D3 series or the new D4 that's coming... -
do better work than the established folk and blow people's minds with a fresh take on wedding photography...then people will want to network with you an have you on their list. if you can't figure out something new to bring to the table then I'm afraid to say, the table is already full.

yes, we would and have. usually we just charge for the session and an additional travel day which is $300-$500 additional depending on the city we're in and the costs incurred to be there an additional day.
the closest we'll be to dc this year is a wedding in toronto...would love to get back to dc though, it's one of our favorite cities! -
whenever possible out goal is to build relationships with the couple, not the mom or whoever happens to be financing the wedding. so we would urge to meet with just the couple but if at the end of the day the mom persisted then she could come to the meeting and we'd be nice :)

I don't but I should.

nope. if I was worried about my clients like every single thing that runs through my head I'd never make anything I like.

it's great! as far as compact cameras go, it's the best I've used for sure.

nope, no desire to work in that world anytime in the near future.

HA! we have actually been approached a few times by tv shows trying to do something like that and it's just not something we have any interest in.

our processing has evolved over the years but in that evolution we've tried to stay as consistent as possible for as long of periods as possible. now with VSCOfilm our images are looking exactly how we always wanted them to look in our head so I can confidently say our evolution is over at this point. now I'm more concerned with creating new work that is exciting to me...the processing can now be an afterthought.

I'm not usually a sport suv lover, but the audi Q7 TDI is amazing...but not super sporty so if that was the criteria I'd go with the cayenne turbo...or the rumored lambo offering that just surfaced :)

oh man, they're all so good! a few nights ago she made some tofu tacos from our friend sprouted kitchen's to be released cookbook that were INSANE. jaclyn does have aspirations to create a food blog about eating healthy and sustainably with kids someday...

not sure, I'm sure plenty of people assume we have an ego...but we don't. we're fully aware that at the end of the day we're just dorky wedding photographers who've done a few things right at the right times and get lucky sometimes :)
-
yes we have, many times in fact. it's been. wry helpful in diagnosing any tweaks we might need to make to our pricing or presentation.

looking back at the body of work we've created of our family, I am super proud of it and wish I had something like it from my childhood. I know that the images we've made will be a HUGE gift to our children. that being said, sure, I always feel like there is more to take, stuff I've missed, etc.
