i do make resolutions! last year, i wrote them down on a little piece of paper and at midnight, i burned them, but kept a tiny corner to remind me what i wanted.
for 2011, i'd like to make sure i get into grad school AND HAVE AN AWESOME TIME IN CHICAGO. :D -

my new job is...going. there's a very steep learning curve here and i'm hoping that after these first few weeks, i'll feel better and more confident.

worst of 2009 - all time low (gag), andrew bird (please never again), chester french, glasvegas, we the kings.
best of 2009 - kings of leon (lollapalooza), empires (every time, but the v. best was at the bottom lounge), fall out boy (bamboozle), green day, the sounds -
the beatles - the white album. it's one of the most perfect records (to me) ever.

because it just is. school is meant to test us. literally and figuratively.

Man, that's kind of tough. My favorite so far is probably a tie between the Empires show at the Delancey and the Scissor Sister show last week.
Empires, because I just adore them so much and the whole crew was there and the band sounded amazing.
And Scissor Sisters. There's something to be said for going to a show where everyone is glad to be there, not pretending like they're too cool, and the band is so happy to be playing for you. I've spent too much time at scene shows and hipster shows since the last time they toured and I forgot what it was like to just dance and not care what anyone else was thinking.
As far as things I'm looking forward to - Kings of Leon (and the included roadtrip), more Empires, hopefully Green Day & Lady Gaga at LOLLAPALOOZA, and next week, Manchester Orchestra. -
Ahahahahahaah! My thoughts are that PANIC! AT THE DISCO NEEDS TO FINISH THEIR DAMN ALBUM AND GET OUT ON TOUR.
Also, Brendon Urie still looks like Rachel Maddow's little brother with those glasses. -
I have midterms this coming week, so I have to finish reading Lucy by Jamaica Kincaid, an essay by Virginia Woolf, a 30 page story to critique, an exercise to write and another writing project to do. I'm also going to see Alice in Wonderland and probably do Sunday brunch with the usual suspects.
Time management, I have learned it. -
Oh my God, I can think of so many answers to this question! But if money was no object, I'd but a townhouse in the West Village - preferably with a yard.
-
Oh God. This really hard. I mean, The Beatles will always be my *favorite* favorites but I also love Queen, The Who, Green Day, Kings of Leon, Fall Out Boy, and of course, Empires.

Well, I like black, but most people wouldn't count that. But besides that, I like purple and glass bottle green.
