I have two answers that sort of go together.
(Actually I'm not really being honest with you, I have three answers. Sorry. Eh, actually two answers and one comment.)
Answer 1: Expressionism.
Nosferatu is expressionist. It's the most popular example I think. You probably know what it is already but I really it. It's not to say I like Nosferatu (acutally i haven't seen Nosferatu. I've seen The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (I think you'd like it more than Nosferatu, like a lot more.), I like what expressionism does. Basically it manipulates visuals such as lighting and set to express the emotions going on in the movie. It creates an emotional reality sorta and that's how i often write and I think I have a problem keeping my emotions separate from reality so I just really like that style of storytelling. I'm really big about things tying and fitting really well together. I like everything tying in to telling the story further which is why I am also so crazy about black swan and oh god I'm rambling a ton I'm sorry. I feel so dumb now. I don't think I'm interesting or even worth reading this much to learn about ;_______;
(Also Suspiria takes a lot from Expressionism. The color importance and stuff.)
Answer 2: Horror
This is stupid to say because expressionist stuff usually is also horror (it's either that or noir almost always). It makes a lot of emotional things physical and I like that. Mostly I just like how free horror is to do whatever it wants to. I never really realized how much I liked the genre until last year I think. I mean, I never actively thought to myself I'm gonna watch a ton of horror. It sorta just happened. Most the things I create have a horror bent. I think it's just sorta a natural thing for me to be attracted to.
Answer 3/Off topic comment: Animation; Primarily stop-motion.
I know. Animation isn't a genre.
I love stop motion. I love the total control you have over an environment with it. It's so cool. Im gonna stop here because my answer is really long and stupid enough.

James Gunn has always been sorta heroish because he's successful in a field I hope to be successful in, he's from st.louis and had a raising similiar to my own and still managed to be really different from that (offensive humor style, sexual, very far from traditional, I suppose.). What makes him a role model isn't just my relateblitiy to him/his success, it's the fact that he has been so successful and still manages to be very down to earth. I've never seen anything pretentious or cocky from him. He's extremely polite and really keeps up with his fans. I really like that about him. He's kept real to himself. I hope I can if I am ever successful. That's an other thing I like about him. he's really motivated and confident in his work...I'm not.
However, I do sometimes feel like he's not very passionate about it. Directing never was really his dream and that's something i don't really get about him. But yeah, he's really really cool. -

I'm really tied to my sexuality. I see it as a huge aspect of who I am. I'm also probably one of the more open minded and accepting types when it comes to other people's kinks, but ironically enough I am also the most embarrassed about my own. ;___; i dont want to share. its hard enough for me to post hentai on tumblr without getting flustered.

uh, I have serious blood lust, so probably something really bloody. idk though.
I really liked this one way i heard, but it was really dramatic. this one guy draped a sheet infront of his bed and waited for his girlfriend to come home and she went upstairs and opened the door and he shot himself and all teh blood went flying on the sheet that seperated him from her so it was probably really visually awesome but horribly dramatic and a bit too much for cait. i couldnt do taht. id probably do a ton of acid and shoot myself or something.
Idk about the acid part though cause i sorta wanna be sober when i die. -
