It was that I should quit college and get married. I firmly decided that I would finish college and I didn't get married for another five years even though I was dating the same man the entire time. Neither of us were in any rush to get married, we knew we would be together no matter what the circumstance. Getting the foundations in place for my career was far more important to both of us than signing a piece of paper.
