Nope. Never heard of it!

Hello! Thank you so much! Yes actually, I have started doing one-on-one sessions this year for people, and it's been super fun! Please feel free to shoot me an email [heather@espanaphotography.com] and I'd be happy to give you the details and set up a time to meet.

Totally depends. Wedding, senior, family? I have different pricing for all of them :).
-
Oh man, I'm definitely not a fashion expert! And it totally depends on how your carry your weight too. I have an hourglass shape, so I have to dress totally differently than, say, an apple shape. My advice would be to lay out a bunch of options, then have a style-savvy friend come over and help you pick :). Like I said, I'm no expert, but you can see what I wore for a photoshoot by Bryan Rupp here: http://www.bryanruppphotographyblog.com/?p=1533 if you want. I think what's most important is to feel like yourself.
-
Yes! I am full-figured too ;). Obviously, what people wear makes a big difference on how much you can do to help them look their best, but there are definitely angles to work with the camera to make them look fabulous. One of my favorites is having them sit while I stand slightly above, then have them look up toward the camera. This is flattering on EVERYBODY, not just full-figured folk. It's very slimming and makes the eyes look striking. The other thing is the one I think everybody knows --- you don't want to squat down and shoot UP. That makes everybody look bigger ;).
-
Oh sure, I had plenty of those when I was first learning how to shoot! Thankfully they were just practice, and messing up is just part of the process. If I did a paid photoshoot now and wasn't happy with the results for some reason, I'd probably offer a re-shoot at no cost. I haven't had to do that, but I believe you should go to great lengths to have happy clients!

Well hello! Thanks so much. I actually use Finao for my albums [http://www.finaoonline.com]. Their website is a little clutter-y, but the products are amazing! I've been super happy with them.

The furthest? I think the furthest was Kenya, Africa. That's a looong plane ride!
-
Aha! Everybody has their own version of this, and some swear by all-black. Me, I hate wearing all black. For one thing, it's too hot [not the good kind]. For another, I just don't look that good in black. You have to be comfortable and professional, which can be a challenge. For me it involves a good pair of shoes [I like Keens], a nice pair of slacks and a lady vest with a short-sleeved cotton button-up. I will often wear a tie, and I almost always try to match the wedding colors. That might sound weird, but people always appreciate it. Plus, if you get caught in any photos, you blend in way better!

For group shots, I love my Canon24mm 1.4. You have to be careful with distortion on the edges, but it's so fun to work with! I had the Canon 70-200mm and I ended up selling it because I never liked using it! Even for candids at events, the Canon 50mm 1.4 is still my favorite lens.
-
The last question in there is the answer! :) While shooting with two cameras would be nice for no-swapping reasons, that much weight around my neck plus my shootsac is nasty. Not worth it to me at all! I usually start with the 50mm, have my second shooter take some wide shots, and sometimes I'll switch to my 100mm for rings, etc. Depending on the location though, I can often just use my 50mm for the whole thing.

Oh, thanks so much! You don't have to feel like a stalker ;-). I have actually been contemplating doing a workshop, but I haven't made it official yet. I am, however, totally on board for one-on-one mentoring sessions. If that's something you would be interested in, feel free to email me [heather@espanaphotography.com] and I'd love to talk to you!

Great question! I love really warm images. There are a couple of ways to go about it. I've found that in a lot of situations, shooting with the white balance on cloudy brings a lot of warmth to the images in-camera. For the blog, I do the post-processing in photoshop using custom recipes. I HIGHLY recommend Totally Rad Actions. I never use any of their actions as-they-come, but they're so easy to alter and get them to do just what I need. Fun!
-
Well, the number of images depends partly on how many hours the clients book. In general though, between 300 and 500. All the images are white balanced and get basic editing as needed, and then for every wedding I usually do special edits on about 30-40 of my favorites for the blog.

I have my business insurance through State Farm. I love them! Their customer service is fantastic. I have full coverage and it runs about $40 a month.
-
Oooh, tough one! I have to say it mostly depends on the couple and the specific details at each wedding. There are always new and different things and interactions that catch my eye. In general though, I love coming up with the ring shots, and I'm a big fan of close-cropping nuzzling moments ;).
-
Ha! As a tattoo-less person, I do not give advice on tattoo selection ;).
