Surprisingly, no. I have a lot of fights with my internal monologue, but I believe this is a concrete universe, where things can exist for better or worse.

Oh lord, this is a question and a half. Well, my memories really sort of start around grade 12. I had known you from a distance, and I had seen you to be quite the popular one with the nice sort of girls (who are now OUR friends). I then remember us socializing in one or two Grade 12 classes, and I can't remember which off the top of my head, but I'm assuming that philosophy is one of them. Philosophy and World Issues, come to think of it. I remember you pestering me at the end of the year for you to sign my yearbook, and I tried to reach you with it, but in the confusion, alas, it was not to be. I've often wondered what you would have written.
Apres ecole, and into the university years, I became, in a way, envious of you. Not in any sort of negative light, but because you had the friendships and connections with the same friends I had, but on a much more personal, intimate, and kinetic level. My devotion to my studies had all but alienated me from that level of friendship, and I wish that I had that same level with our friends.
I remember our philosophy chats on Facebook, with us kvetching about our instructors and material in our respective schools, and chatting away about projects. Then break came, and we met up for those days. Long talks in the record store, eating sandwiches waiting for my BSS virginity to be no more, groggy half-conversations on the train home, long breakfast at Cora's, strong conversations and laughter while mindlessly wandering around suburbia, waiting for poor old Nana to try and find where we were.
It's a shame that New York didn't really work out for us. I mean, I only really see about 4 days where I will be by myself, and the house is slowly becoming a home. One day we will become the rightful heirs to the thrones of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Well, some neighbourhoods anyway.
I can't tell you how lucky I am to have a friend like you. An intellect, a dreamer, a connoisseur. I wish that we had this relationship for all the years of high school, on a more consistent level. I wish you all the best in your studies, and I can't wait for the future days ahead.
(Also, if we see each other this month, we make mixtape. I haz software, we haz musics, we impress teh ladiez.) -
