I don't use a plugin, I use some software and code it in, it's not the best, in fact I'm probably going to switch to something better soon. But I use, like most others do is e-junkie.

There is no magazine style layouts included with pro photo 4 but you can always look around for some prophoto templates that might fit the style you're looking for. The there will be some on the prophoto site on launch day, and several designers are planning to release P4 templates at the same time.

    4. Matt Hudson

You're not supposed to mess with the core files, you'll most likely jack it all up. :p It's customizable enough where you don't have to. And making new templates out of the software is as easy as clicking a few buttons.

Nevermind, I see what you're asking. You're referring to "fixed" in a different way. You're asking if the menus can stay at the top of the page fixed, and scroll with the page? LIke new facebook and google+No that's not possible in P4.

    6. Matt Hudson

I'm not really understanding what you're asking since the menus have always been fixed into place. The only thing that ever isn't are page backgrounds and the ability to change those has been there since P2.

    7. Matt Hudson

As in have a grid post drop down onto an existing page instead of open in the same window? No that feature isn't in there yet. HOWEVER. You can achieve this in the new menus. There's an option to allow anything you want to be able to drop down onto the page there. The availability menu link is an example of that.

I have the mobile version turned on, not the regular site, the slideshows aren't supposed to work in this instance. I'm going to switch, because I personally don't really care for the mobile stuff so much. I talked about it in the review a bit on the site. It's a good feature to have, but it's still new and I would rather have the regular site load. I wanted to give people the opportunity to see what it looks like in mobile view before I switch back. Also I'll admit I need to spend some more time playing with the design for it. It was on the bottom of a long list of things to get done. :)

    9. Matt Hudson

No problemo. :) Glad you like the site and I'm pumped for everyone to be getting P4!

    10. Matt Hudson

Yes, I actually worked with prophoto quite a bit in improving some of the already existing features there in beta testing. You can now easily change and re-arrange photos and finally, able to delete images directly from the pro photo gallery, grid or lightbox. Before it was kind of klunky and re-arranging was a nightmare. Now you can just drag and drop. :)

    11. Matt Hudson

It's a lot easier to setup a home page since alot of the features already built in now allow you to turn certain things on/off for home page. But you do still have to only remove the post title for the home page. The feature for that, so you don't have to code it is coming in a later update. He's got a list of things to do right after another, so I can't tell you when. Since there are now auto updates. It will be free once you purchase P4 though. :)

    12. Matt Hudson

Depends on what you want. If you're wanting small stuff changed I can do those whenever you're ready and have pro photo 4 ready. If you're wanting say a single revision, with a few changes to an existing design it's the same. For a full brand new design that one will have to wait though. Little stuff like I mentioned can be done in a single day or few hours, so it's no big deal to take a few older clients just wanting smaller updates especially since I think most of you already know what you want.

All galleries and lightboxes have been recoded to html 5 in pro photo 4, everything works smooth on mobile and tablet devices. :)

    15. Matt Hudson

Yep, instead of using the default categories and archives widget. I used a custom menu widget for those. Why? Because they're entirely WAY more flexible, and I can choose not to show the bullets or ornamentation that the normal wordpress ones show. I have two templates coming out I'm working on with vertical menus instead of horizontal ones. So expect those soon. :)

    16. Matt Hudson

That's actually a very old bug that's in pro photo 3 and it's one that can't be fixed. It only applies to the header layout with the logo and the menu in the same line. That's good that you pointed that out though, because I can move the menus with the extended drop downs to a different place so it won't happen. It's a work around until they can eventually try and get it fixed.

    17. Matt Hudson

Well the "boxy dates" are customizable the same in P3 so there's options to have backgrounds there. The way I did the one on H2 was I made an image in photoshop at exactly the spot I needed it to show up, then just uploaded it as a background image to the post header, and changed it to "no repeat: this allows you to basically have anything you want behind the header title text or the date box. Photoshop is most of the work there.

    18. Matt Hudson

If you'd like to see what it looks like, view H2 on your phone or ipad.

    19. Matt Hudson

Well, for smaller stuff you can go ahead and book after P4 releases and you purchase it. The info is int he pricing section under custom blogs in the services section. The design itself won't mess up, as I said though if I've implemented custom fonts or used a plugin for social networking on your design those will have to be replaced because most likely they won't carry over. Custom fonts and social integration are now built in and doesn't need the hand coded methods I was using any longer. If you're wanting a full design you'll have to wait for an opening. I have two clients to finish up then I'll be opening them up.

    20. Matt Hudson

Those are "ads" they've been built into pro photo 3 and 4, but I've used the feature in kind of a creative way. Instead of doing the first image as banner with a link. I did the text to show off the section instead. :)
