Hey there nymph. How did I miss your question? I think we should be friends -- I bet our coffee dates would be full of fun. Stick around.

Good question! I think the problem of evil is what essentially turned me away from my faith. Books: 'God's Problem: How the Bible Fails to Answer Our Most Important Question--Why We Suffer' by Bart Ehrman and 'Evil in Modern Thought' by Susan Neiman. For websites, I like the infidels.org library and also the essays on ebonmusings.org.

I've never dated or been in a relationship with someone from another race, but that's only because the right person never came along. I don't have issues with interracial relationships, or same gender relationships.

Um, good? You can call him and ask yourself, if you'd like.

Good question! Am I allowed to morph people into the perfect man? Yes? Okay!
I'd take the body/looks of Gerald Butler + the mind of Sam Harris + the wit of Ricky Gervais = the PERFECT man for me to repopulate the world with. -
Is it possible to have a world without religion? I dunno. It's a noble goal though, and it wouldn't be the first time humankind has pursued an ideal that's seemingly unattainable.
That said, I think a world that emphasizes the division of church and state IS possible, and is definitely a desirable end -- plus it's a goal that both the religious and irreligious can support. -
Asking me to identify my favorite book is like asking me to identify my favorite breath -- I'm stuck without a definitive answer. A few of my favorites (that I've read more than once) are The Road by Cormac McCarthy, The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, and Sula by Toni Morrison.

Y'know, when I'm feeling confident about myself and my various musings, I love thinking about writing down my "journey", a la memoir. And if I'm feeling especially confident, I think about what I'd title it -- today's title is: "grrrl meets world: How I left my faith and found myself."
But most days, when I'm covered in toddler-goo, buried in student papers to mark, and feeling very little confidence, I wonder about what my book could offer the masses.
In short, I'm a ways away from writing down my story. (but don't count me out just yet) -
I'm no prophetess, but the best prediction I can make is that I'll continue to write about whatever it is I'm passionate about.

The TV, which I hardly watch anyway. Too many shows to download & watch commercial-free!

English, fairly well. Spanish, not very well. (though I do remember all the sappy Spanish love songs, thank you Senor Martinez!)

Rebekah’s Bio
I’m an ex-pat American in the midst of the frozen Canadian prairies. I’ve just entered my third decade. I’m also a mama to Emma, and am a happily outspoken godless liberal (small L).
