because, after a lot of research, the center that i went to there seemed like the best fit for what I needed at the time.

so sorry it took me so long to answer this! thank you for asking:) I personally LOVE my dietitan. its scary at first, definitely, but it can be really helpful. usually at a first appt they'll just weigh you(eek, i know, but try not to worry too much about that) and ask you a bunch of questions about your ed history (what you eat, exercise, other behaviors/mental health issues, etc) then most dietitians will try to help you collaborate and come up with a meal plan based on what is safe for you. this is the most important part-that you feel its something YOU can really stick to, not just what he/she wants you to do. try to be as honest as possible. thats always helpful. see if you feel comfortable, at least minimally at first, and then hopefully that can grow into a trusting relationship later on once you get to know each other better. I know its scary but hopefully if they know what they're doing they'll be kind and understanding and although you might feel as if you are being pushed a little bit, it's probably for the better. Hang in there. let me know how it goes! (i hope this helps...)

i pretty much eat a variation on the same thing every day: cereal (usually trader joes' all-bran, kashi go lean crunch or granola) w/ 2% greek yogurt and either dried cranberries, dark chocolate pieces, some kind of nut butter or jam mixed in. sometimes all four !

Back in March of 2009, i went to treatment for the first time at the University Medical Center at Princeton. I (unfortunately) went back there again later that summer. for a second time Last winter i went to Monte Nido Vista (one of Carolyn Costin's programs in California) for residential, and then after that i did a step-down program at Columbus Park Collaborative in NYC.

hm. if it were Reality TV then definitely Made or something b/c i'd want to learn how to dance. If it were just tv...then perhaps Criminal Minds because i'm in LOVE with Matthew Gray Gubler and i'd want to be his love interest ;)

Treatment for bulimia is rough. Treatment for any eating disorder is rough. Being in treatment though, in many cases (imo) is really necessary/helpful to get someone back on their feet and into life again. I've been in treatment three times (twice inpatient and once residential) and the residential was the most recent and by FAR the most helpful. I couldn't have asked for more. I went in wanting to die and came out living. I'd be really happy to talk to you if you wanted to email me or something or if you have any more specific questions you can feel free to just post them here :)
And i'm so glad you like my blog! Thats so nice to hear. Seriously, what a compliment. I'm sure you're wonderful too
I hope you get the help you need. Please let me know if there's anything i can do/ if you want more info/advice/ anything.
      xo
