The donation counters are for specific bonus stories. I tied the amount I ask for on each bonus story to the amount of people who voted for them. So, for instance, right now the next bonus would be about Matt -- only 2 people voted for that story, so I set the price low (I think $4) for them to earn it if they want to see it.

The previous bonus was about Calla, and more people voted so the price was higher. But donations can be any size a person is comfortable with. I just like to offer incentives as a way to say "thank you."

People can also buy the first two books in print form from Lulu.com, the link is in the Donations and Store tab on my website.

The sequel has kind of hit a wall because some of the things I really wanted to do with it have happened in other books that I've become aware of, so I'm kind of back to the drawing board on that one.

NMAI was very self contained but the ending left Ethan with Mara and a second chance at life -- I intend (somehow) to show their life together but also how he can't escape who he is.

That's a tough one -- the moments I value most and for their own unique merit are my baptism, my wedding, and the birth of my three children -- all of those were life-changing and happy.

I started the Golden Compass and got bored fifty pages in, unfortunately. So far that's the only opinion I have -- it was dull. My understanding of the plot and themes of the three books is that they're much more speculative fiction than theological, involving alternate dimensions, sci-fi energy weapons and a fictional hierarchy of angels. The souls/daemons and angels don't seem particularly rooted in tradition or Biblical texts.

I'm actually sad to say myself. In writing, I can do prose and poetry and essays. In art, I can draw, paint and sculpt. In music I can sing and play some guitar. In theatre I can act, stage manage, do lights and sound and sets. However, I'm not the best at any of these things -- in any one area I know lots of people more talented than I am, but none with more talents. So it depends on your definition of "most talented."

I would take the jetpack. The ability to fly is one of my favourite daydreams, and would come in handy all the time, especially with three kids.

      Several -- because I'm clumsy.

(This is the short version of the story of EVERY scar on my body.)

Like who actually had an IQ test, verifiably smartest?

Unfortunately, on paper, the dude in the mirror. In my opinion? My wife is lots smarter than me.

If I had to choose rich OR famous, which seems almost impossible to separate in this day and age, I think I would choose rich because of the economic stability it would give my children.

However, my ideal way to achieve fame would be to write a best-selling book that becomes a hit movie, so I'd be rich AND famous.

Mostly, I just want to be a good dad, so it's not really an important question to me.

Well, I think the sun would rise, and then pass through the sky from east to west, and then go down. That's what all days look like, though.

I once broke my nose in the warm-up for a baseball game. Our coach was hitting us fly balls and people were in my peripheral vision, moving too much, so I kinda only caught the edge of the ball with my glove, and my face did the rest of the work.

I was fired as a student working summers for an automotive company. I put in my two weeks notice so I could go work at a Christian camp, and thanked the company for their time. I was fired a week later, I think because that way they broke up with me instead of the other way around. Still seems odd.
