Thankful for 1) God and His blessings, namely 2) the family given me, 3) the work given me, 4) the opportunities for me to testify for Him through words and actions and 5) the people He's brought into my life.

Hi Rosline! Are you referring to "听我说声我爱你"? You can get this song in the album "希望有一天“. It's available at this address: http://www.oopsasia-singapore.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=39&Itemid=13&lang=en
Hope this helps! :) -

I have this soft spot for surprises, not so very much in the surprises themselves, but the thought of the length and process needed to successfully execute them. It touches me that there are people willing to go to such lengths for me.
I can remember a few memorable ones offhand.. and not surprisingly, they come from the people closest to me. The most memorable one will probably be the one for my 27th birthday. I was home when Char returned with a bart simpson cupcake. We started talking about where to go for dinner... and I could sense that she was leading me toward going to one particular place for dinner. I followed along with the plan and thought that it was probably a surprise, that I would meet a lot of "familiar" people there.
We reached the place and it was quite empty. We sat down and started ordering food... everything suddenly felt so "normal", and I actually started thinking that okay, it's really just a meal. Char suddenly felt queasy and needed to go to the toilet. After some time she called and said she needed me to help her buy some stuff from the supermarket (ah this won't make sense unless you know what stuff it is but then nevermind haha...) and so I went...
And then I receive a text from Syahir (I think) telling me that "everyone is here".
I think that text was meant for Char.
Hahahahaha.... yeah... that's the gist of that self broken surprise. But I was really, really touched. :)
Then there was this time when she set up a surprise dinner for me with Mark, Sue, Jason and Theresa at Ivins... I think it was for my 26th birthday. And for the same year she tried to work out a surprise little gathering comprising Joe, Gideon, Syahir and Joash at my place... and the funny thing was that I met some of them on my way back, before they could get to my place to hide. Haha... Not to mention the latest installment when she got the cell group to play along that everyone wanted supper after our session... only to find myself "chancing" upon Jan, Peter, Amos, Zephy, Sarah and Shaula at Swensons... which was Jan's idea.
And come to think of it, I do have a very sweet bunch of students when I was working back in Hwa Chong Institution. In my first official year as a centre coordinator when I had a room to myself, a group of students bunched up and created this board filled with individual notes to me. I was a little startled on my birthday that year when I entered my room - Leonard was inside pasting something and then hastily went out of the room when I arrived. Haha... then there's this very dear bunch of guys from the boarding programme who threw a midnight surprise and made a homemade cheesecake the subsequent year... how not to be touched? Haha... but perhaps the most memorable one would be my last year of work there. These bunch of students graduated to college and though they were still staying in the same block in boarding school, we seldom had the opportunity to interact anymore. But they came... the moment the clock struck twelve, there they were, with my favourite mudpie from Island Creamery. I was really touched that they remembered, and even though it wasn't that convenient for them anymore, they still made the effort.
And ya... not to mention the letters and cards that some of them wrote... of which I'd been really touched by a magnet given by lao er, a card manually cut in the shape of a house by Wei Lun (hahahaha...), cards and notes by Si Heng and Yang Cheng, the note given to me by Edwin before I left...
I know I'm supposed to just mention the most touching thing... but truth is, there are many things people have done for me that have touched me, for one, knowing that all these are undeserved... can't help but to give thanks. :)
And in light of this, cliche as it may sound, ever since God graciously allowed me to taste of His wondrous love some ten years ago, nothing really much matches up. It is said in the Bible that greater love has no one than this, that he'll give up his life for his friend... I still remember the way I held on tight to my chair in the midst of watching "The Passion of the Christ" when it came out in the cinemas in 2004, when the tears simply flowed freely at the crucifixion scene, trying to comprehend how the King of kings would go to the cross for me... for me.
Thank you one and all who've touched my life in ways big and small, one way or another... and thank You, for giving me Your all, and for all the other good gifts. :) -
Hi Shaoyun - yes yes I remember you... Hahaha. Hope things have been going well for you at college side! Things have been great - I'm currently with the Oracle Education Foundation coordinating the ThinkQuest program amongst schools... no longer with HCI since the beginning of the year (if you haven't known...). I enjoy the time sharing about the program with whoever's interested in the schools... and I'm enjoying the flexibility of the job as well. (:
Hope everything's okay at your end! -

Hey... sorry for the very late reply. You are Ronnie from Sec 3 this year? Hmmm really very sorry - I don't have much impressions of your batch. I suppose we interacted for a very brief while when I relief taught your class for IS back in Sec 1? Oh gosh I don't even remember if I've taken your batch... Do you have any impression of me?
