I don't really get good deals haha I mostly buy all my shit off Amazon.jp for full price and get slapped across the face with shipping. But I do know sometimes there are some really good deals on ebay (like $3 a piece for bl comics) and once in a blue moon yaoi club or w/e it's called offers some pretty good prices.

      HMM as far as something GL has that BL lacks, I would say the 'friendship factor'. In a lot of GL series the main relationship is made up of two women who are not only lovers but incredibly close friends. Sometimes BL just makes the relationships between the main couple all about the 'lovers' aspect and idk I think a bit more of the 'lovers and best friends' route could add a lot to many BL series. Also the ~quiet fall into love~ sob BL does technically have story like that but nowhere near enough to satisfy me!! ;;

for something BL has that GL lacks, I would say the opposite: because so much of GL is insanely focused on the friendship between the females, it often doesn't even seem like they're in a sexual relationship. The lines between friends and lovers are a little too blurred, if even existent. So much of the time, GL is so subtle and soft that it almost insinuates that sex is unnecessary between two girls and it's just... man, girls have sex drives too! I want to see them getting hot and heavy and aroused by each other just as much as I see it in BL. 8( Enough of ladies just blushing and holding hands and sleeping fully-clothed next to each other in bed, I want some real action jeez.

WHOA SORRY evidently formspring doesn't let me know when I have questions anymore. orz If you're talking about hazukashiikedo, that's from Jaryuu Dokuro's latest tankoubon!

there's a chance she has an alternative doujinshi circle name, but as far as I know for proper publishing she only goes by the name Akahoshi Jake. And yep, it's a very smutty book.

hmmmm not a lot. Partly because I'm kind of shy, so I didn't really talk to many strangers and thus aside from ordering food/items or 'professional talk' I didn't speak with many people. And people who do approach you randomly generally assume you don't speak Japanese and thus try to speak with you in English. So aside from reading signs and watching TV and reading comics/menus/etc. there weren't really that many chances to practice. Granted, I only stayed for eight days so if you stay longer there should be many more chances to try and speak Japanese with people!

I haven't, sorry. 8( Couldn't afford it this month and since I don't buy Opera regularly I wasn't able to read it in there either. Next month, hopefully!

I'm not 100% sure since I don't follow the novels, but going by a quick scroll on a.jp it seems like volume 11 was the last one!

cries I took forever to answer this and FS deleted the other half of your question!!! >8((

anyway sd;lgkd;fgsg yay I am so so so glad you enjoyed Kimi to Parade! I completely agree with you in how well the sweet feel of her stories comes through. It makes me so happy to see other people who love her because she is just so fabulous imo and her artwork is gorgeous and I just cannot stress enough how much I adore her work.

    11. ♔・ふう子

haha it's fine if you don't like her that much. Honestly, sometimes I worry that I go on too much about the artists I really love because other people might find it overhyped and dislike the artists by default.

    12. ♔・ふう子

it's not that I think they're /not good/ because they're super popular--it's just that since they're super popular, I tend to expect to really really like them and so I go in with too-high expectations and so even if I liked the story I feel like I didn't like it as much as I was supposed to and thus it almost feels vaguely like I didn't enjoy it.

sd;lgjsdgs it's really hard to explain idk. That's why I try to avoid reviews and such for things I haven't read, because I don't like going into things with high expectations. I feel like when you go into things with really high expectations, it's like you're just asking to be disappointed.

    13. ♔・ふう子

I like her stuff quite a lot but unfortunately she's one of those artists who's super hyped so even though I enjoy her work I feel like I'm not enjoying it /enough/. I don't know if that makes sense ds;gljdsgfg but yeah that's the kind of phenomenon I have with artists like Yoneda Kou and Hidaka Shouko and Yamane Ayano and Inariya Fusanosuke--I like their work but since I don't LOVE it like everyone else seems to it becomes ultimately less memorable to me just because I didn't adore it as much as I was expecting to.

orz I do not know why my brain works like this.

    14. ♔・ふう子

are they? Though I suppose if the pacing is still slow I'll kept waiting. I had no clue Yuuutsu no Asa was almost over. orz I feel so behind in BL fandom, though I suppose it's probably because I'm not quite as enthusiastic about Hidaka's work as quite a lot of other people.

CRAFT is on the lighter side of the BL spectrum, yeah. But I don't know if it's because they purposely try to only have lighter BL, or if they just happen to because there's more of a focus on storytelling. Two other books that lean toward less sex are Rutile and Chara and at times Canna. However, shounen-ai-only magazines are hard to come by if not almost non-existent since almost all BL magazines and anthologies will have at least one or two stories with sex scenes or at least fairly heavy petting. I would recommend maybe something like the Edith anthologies if you prefer BL without sex scenes.

    17. ♔・ふう子

      not really?

sob I know that's a really boring answer but idk. I liked it when I initially started reading it, but the pacing is so slow and the releases are so few and far between that I since dropped it until I have a substantial amount of chapters and actual plot development before I pick it back up again. Sometimes I'm tempted since I have a friend who really really likes it and always talks about it when something new happens. But for now I will hold back until the main couple at least gets together.

deleting and reposting because I just realized half my answer got cut off wtf formspring you add all this dumb shit but you never make it possible to edit answers.

re: Kumota's, I don't know why I don't generally talk about onBLUE releases. Probably just because I tend to get really excited over them to the point where writing a big long post doesn't seem as fun as just reading them.

for Jaryuu's, I probably haven't read book that in its entirety since I can't imagine the three chapters of her Citron story + extras + her oneshot taking up an entire book. Though I did write up a short post about the title story here:
      http://hazukashiikedo.wordpress.com/2011/11/23/jaryuu-dokuro-yume-touka-endroll/

if by 'not talking about them' you mean not talking about the fact that they're getting official releases, I've just been too busy with work and trip-planning lately and have been keeping my excitement over BL-related stuff either on my personal accounts or to myself.
