Impossible to say, really. I think the allure of "manbeasts" was always there, dating back to the Egyptians and older eras. People always respected the best traits and strengths of the animal kingdom, often drawing them into comparison with people. Fables and whatnot spread over the era, and there was a fascination the built up over time.

It probably just started to assemble more as communication became more widespread, starting with the infancy of newsgroups. Anthros were always there, evident in art and animation, and it built from there. The fandom itself got its basis on the newsgroups for those who shared a similar interest in 'funny animals" (we hate that term - it's so horrifically generic). It just sort of spread from the newsgroups to IRC and to MUCKs, and took off from there.

Jurassic Bark - it proved Futurama could tell a fun, hilarious story while maintaining a sentimental, sad side as well.

Fender prefers to watch Doctor Who. He finds musical shows overrated.

Fender was raped by a Babelfish as a young kit. We're not exactly sure how that's even possible, but it is. So he can understand bits and pieces. Also, your car keys are in your pocket. You grabbed them earlier, but forgot about them as you went about other frantic morning chores.

The economy is going to start over-investing in alternative fuel sources, especially after the dual oil leaks in the Gulf of Mexico. If I was a betting man, I'd say that they're going to start pushing towards hydrogen fuel in large cities, and offset long distance travel on the highway with hydrogen fuel pumps along major routes.

While this won't cure everything, it'll be a start - it will probably also boost the rental car industry for people with hydrogen cars that need to travel out of hydrogen territory.

It sounds like a Jewish food that offers a light amount of breading that goes well with hummus.

Not really, no. While we allow human art, it is "Fur" Affinity, emphasis mine. That's not to say people on the site don't like human art, but just that they come to the site for one thing in particular.

Peer's a dick, and he's a freeloader who crashed on our couch months ago and we just can't seem to get him out of our hair.

Give it time. Don't rush it. Not everything requires an instant answer, and sometimes it's best just to let it come to you. Otherwise you'll end up like one of those guys who changes characters annually.

Because like trees, Ferroxes process hydrogen into oxygen, providing the freshest, tastiest breathing air you've ever breathed. It's like smelling fresh laundry.
