Wow, good question! I'll admit, I'm pretty intimate with Sullivan's pedigree - besides researching his buildings, I've got two Richard Nickel books documenting his work - but I had to look up Wright's buildings to make a fair judgement. Ignoring the fact that I can't speak to the vast majority of the interiors, I still side with Louis. While Wright went lengthwise with his buildings, especially residences, Sullivan went lofty and skyward, while still incorporating natural elements. Sullivan's got another "in" with me, in that I live in relatively close proximity to a lot of his buildings. The thing is, no matter how many times I see the Krause Music building or the Carson Pirie Scott Building, they always take my breath away.
