Baptism is the outward symbol of what Jesus Christ has done for us. It is our way of identifying with his death, burial and resurrection. It says to others that I now am living for Jesus Christ and not for myself. It is our act of obedience to the Lord as he told us that we are to do this. For this reason, I do not believe in infant baptism where it in no way is a choice the child is making. However, if a child has chosen to follow Christ and understands the meaning and significance of baptism then I believe that it is fine.
However, if as a child you truly did not know what you were doing and whether by peer pressure or curiosity said a prayer and were baptized without giving your life to Christ, then yes, if you have now turned your life over to Christ, it would be the next step for you. Even if people question you regarding why you are being baptized again, let it be an opportunity to share what Christ has done in your life! -
There is so much wrapped up in this question. First, I see people who say they have accepted Christ at young and not so young ages turn their back on him. It's not really a matter of age, it is a matter of whether or not they have truly give their lives to Christ. Many times people do not. They say a prayer because of peer pressure or fear but not because of the Holy Spirit's conviction on their life.
The Bible says in Matthew 7 that we can see who a person is truly following by their actions. If a person claims to be a follower of Christ and yet they continue in their sin, that person has deceived themselves.
If a person truly understands the message of the cross and surrenders their life to Jesus, they will not turn their back on Him.
In the words of K-Drama in the Humble TIP song SPF "The issue isn't that they had it (Salvation)and that it went to waste. The issue is that they never had it in the first place." -
Good question. Tried to get everyone confused with the zero in there because everyone knows that you can't divide by zero when in fact the question deals with how far of a departure is from the temperature that you feel comfortable or the temperature that you can tolerate. So if I began to feel cold at 35 degrees (I love cool weather), and today it is 35 degrees cooler than my cold level. Therefore if I were to say that it was literally going to be twice as cold... it will be -35 degrees tomorrow. Wow now that is cold.

I'm assuming you are speaking of Pastor Bob Felts. He is doing wonderful! This has been a difficult year and yet one to celebrate. He is had cancer, had it removed, and as far as the doctors can see... he is cancer free! Thanks for asking :-)

The term "into your heart" is often misleading and causes a lot of people to hesitate because of the misunderstanding of this statement.
My answer to your question is this: I have recognized that I am a sinner separated from God by my willful rebellion against Him. Nothing I do could ever make my relationship right with Him because even my best "deeds" are done laced with sinful pride and boasting. My case is hopeless to ever be considered perfect in the sight of God. The Bible says that God knew this and through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I am made into a new creation. My rebellion against God has been forgiven. I have turned from those ways and I now follow after Jesus Christ and trust in Him alone for my salvation.
So yes I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a Christian.
The idea of Jesus coming "into my heart" comes from the idea of the Holy Spirit coming along side of us and leading us. He is described as dwelling within us and our bodies being the temple.
Great question. -
On Easter Sunday at Brookwood Church. We are starting a 4 part series called "Why God?" based on this very question. Where IS God when bad things happen. I would encourage you to join us as the answer will be explained much more thoroughly.
However, now that I have a little time to answer, here goes my thoughts on this. Though your question seems to have several parts, it comes down to the last. Why did God give us free will.?
We are God's special creation. God created us to have a relationship with us. He did not create us to be "robotic" in our response to him. That answer is as old as this question but it has truth to it. Through our free will, we have the opportunity to truly love God. We also can use that free will for evil and rebellion against God. It is in that rebellion that we find ourselves separated from God. It is God who provides the means for us to be restored. It is He who takes these "bad things" and provides good things to come from them.
That is a very short response. Again i would encourage you to join us at Brookwood starting April 4th for more detail! Thx for the question. -
This is definitely a question with many answers so I will answer it this way. Yes and no. Yes there is enough in the visible world around us to clearly see that something greater than ourselves caused this to be. Even in what we consider chaos, the created order is just that...order. The human body alone is filled with such evidence of a creator. There is so much we can learn about God by how he has created. Then I look into the lives of those who have had their lives changed so dramatically by a relationship with God. Finally I personally know that I have a relationship with God. His presence in my life is real and there is no doubt whatsoever that He is there.
The no part is this. Can I take you to a place here on earth and introduce you to a physical being called God? no. Can I audibly hear what he says? No... I haven't so far ;-) Do I understand everything about God and how he can be who he says he is? No. If the complete understanding of God could fit in my relatively puny brain, he wouldn't be much of a God.
Wow... please ask follow up questions if you can. -
We're going to talk about that tonight (2.28.10) at FSM Sunday Nights. GREAT question. Ezekiel 28:13-14 is a good place to begin... Come tonight to hear the rest.

What kind of celebrity would play a youth ministry. Kind of impossible.

Best thing to do on an individual basis is to pray for your enemy (Matthew 5:43-44). As a youth group and as a church, this is what we should do. We should also support action by our government that values the life of others and protects the innocent as much as possible.(Romans 13:4).
