Yes, that's totally possible. I am a CPA, I can see through the complexities of local and US taxation, I can create a meaningful excel spreadsheet with a hundred magabites worth of formula, graphs, and cross references. I know the logic by heart but do I love doing it day to day and not get tired of it? Not really. I don't hate doing one when required, though.
You see, it's doing the things we're really good at and getting paid for them that can oftentimes support our need to do the things we truly love. I have grown to accept this "symbiosis" as a way of and to life. Lucky are those whose jobs they really truly love and whose passions bear the money fruit. Some of us can only afford to compromise. -

I can most probably give up taste. That's the easiest. I still wish for eating to be optional because it requires so much time and attention. I love the taste of food and I can cook a mean dish (when I want and need to), don't get me wrong, but I can totally do away with it if need be. yeah, if only eating were optional.

I clean the inside with one end of the swab and the outer part with the other end everyday. So one Qtip for each ear ang gamit ko daily :)

Pride I have in moderation and only when called for. Envy I don't get. And gluttony. I oftentimes wished eating wasn't so compulsory and people can just eat if they wanted to and not eating won't render you brain dead. Greed I silenced with the mindset that I can only have so much. Sloth, probably. Then again I can't stay idle for more than a minute. That'll be suicide for a hyperbraniac.
Then we come to lust. Fuckyeah, now we're talking! ;-) -

You mean a "pet sin" like having a fondness of killing turtles by ripping their shells apart with my bare hands, getting bigger turtles as time progresses, getting more turtles at one go in the process, and taking a video of myself for log documentation spanning over two decades now in the secret confines of wherever it is I'm residing at the time of it happening? No, I'm not that sick in the head, sorry. If I knew somebody who takes delight in doing this, I'd definitely stay as far away from the person as humanly possible LOL.
Seriously now, probably I do and I don't know if "normal" people would even call it a sin. Problem is, "sins" adhere to set standards and norms that vary per belief or way of life. Come to think of it, what's an atheist's concept of sin and will they ever sin? Going back, it would be safe to assume that, yes, some will be offended that I do what I "do." Regularly since college. Me doing them do not bother me at all which could mean that maybe I have already reclassified it as a non-sin, I wonder.
For the record, the act I'm referring to in the previous paragraph does not in any way involve turles. Nor doves, parakeets, pigeons, mice, mackerel, millipedes, or other lowly creatures. :) -

Nasabi ko na kahapon sa plurk to pero it's worth reposting ule:
"I've one wish before the new year starts. Hindi ito pansarili. Hindi personal. Pero tauspuso. Sana, magbati na ang magkakagalit. Amen."

Give away eh.

They have Kaperng Barako, right? I forgot what it's called lang. What I like sa Figaro isn't the coffee actually. Their Pudding with Vanilla Sauce is E to the P to the IC! Grabe! Also, Oscar (na cake). Their Pesto is unpretentious and pasta always perfectly cooked. I've nothing but good memories with Figaro.

As for me, I live by the saying "I don't give a SHIT in the office." -
Nyahahahahahahahaha!

Dalawa yan, first and second part of 2009, nuks. In March, yung davao trip na wala kaming ginawa kundi kumain tas may schedule pa kung saan. Then yung second is last September yung Bangkok trip namin na masaya kasi nung first night, nagoyo kami sa Patpong para manuod ng pingpong balls na niluluwa ng kipay ng mga sumasayaw sa stage. Nakaririmarim, pakshet. LOL Naging OK naman ang trip from then on.

The Internet and magazines rin and TV. I usually have an idea of what to buy which makes the entire shopping experience a torture. My considerations, in order of importance, would be: form, durability, brand, and, last, cost.

"love" as in "a relationship" (I told you you asked the hardest questions, Sparkeh, but I'll try answering em):
x + y = (a + b + c) ^n
where:
x = person 1
y= person 2
a = differences
b = commonalities
c = environmental factors
(raised to the power of) n = sum of trust, understanding, patience, maturity, and forgiveness -
Wala pero sabihin ko mga paborito ko for each kung sakaling mapadpad man ako sa kahit ano sa kanila.
Starbucks: 3-cup Espresso Roast pressed coffee
Seattle's Best: Raspberry Mocha Kiss
Coffee Bean: African Sunrise Tea Latte
There's this coffee shop in our building, Fiorgellato, and they serve really good Americano at P55. That one I get everyday, in the afternoon, right after lunch. Way cheaper than what the three above would charge for the same coffee size. -
When all else may seem to fail to redeem the Filipino from our shortcomings, I go back to what Carlo Ople shared during the aftermath of Ondoy as said by an "American who lives here," he said:
“I wish you all could see the amazing community spirit, charity and compassion in the Phils. What I see happening here totally blows away the response to hurricane Katrina. People here have less to give, yet they’re giving ABUNDANTLY. There’s such a greater story than just the ‘death toll’ that the lame american media fails to capture.” [Source: http://www.juancountry.com/what-an-american-said-about-the-ondoy-bayanihan]
We are predominantly a thinking race. When provoked, we are easy to react. When needed, we selflessly give as much as we can. When forced to do what's right, I trust that the good in every Filipino will prevail. The family is our strength and stronghold and our inherent sense of "extended family" multiplies the reach of that strength several times over.
Sure, we have great shortcomings and most of the time, we'd have misgivings on the next Juan's opinion but that's the essence of the beauty of our race. We think and we see or we try to. And then we do things.
If only we could muster the propensity to be more forward looking and aligned as a collective. For now, that'll go in my wish list.
Thanks for the question, Sparkey. This made me think real hard, believe me :) -

FACT: Mga 2005 lang ako nag-dedicate sa sport na I can truly call my own pero nawala na nung nagsara ang facility near where I live. Wall climbing. At kumpleto na ako sa gear nito. Got the shoes from HK pa. Boreal brand, hellzyeah!
