I think stuff like that comes with time and persistence. Don't push him into a corner. Let him realize for himself, with time. He is probably really really hurt, and feels a bit betrayed, and I can fully understand where he's coming from. You may have had feelings for him, but you know...you're gay. That's also a really big blow to his ego. Id say just be persistent. In a couple weeks again, text him and ask him to lunch. If he declines, talk to him in another two weeks...until he gives in! Then when you hang out explain everything from beginning to end. But mainly, give him time to process things, not suffocate, ya know?
